Vivaldi not saving passwords for apps in a tab sign-in status on Linux
-
Each time I either x out of the browser or log off, none of my mail or other apps retain their signed-in status. When I sign back on, I have to click on each app in a tab to log back in. I followed instructions to delete a file that would rebuild this, but it still does not retain the log-in status. I can see the account, and the password is there but not visible. If I click to show the password, it is then erased. It feels like a safety feature but is very annoying.

@jimwh Had you changed something (KWallet, GNOME Keyruing) or copied file
Login Data
from a older profile?
Do yo use Autologin in Linux? If you had synced your passwords with Vivaldi Sync before, then close Vivaldi, delete file
Login Data
in Vivaldi profile folder, start Vivaldi, login to Vivaldi Sync and resync. Now you should have your logins back. -
I previously deleted both Login Data and Login Data Journal, and the Keychain is not enabled. I have never synced Vivaldi.

@jimwh You need to use KWallet or GNOME Keyring as wallet for the encryption keys.
Or do you start Vivaldi with a special commandline parameter?https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/66435/loss-of-password-support-when-changing-desktops

I do not do anything special. I read that some people were having an issue with the side calendar/weather app. That app shows both of my Gmail accounts and events. Could this be an issue?
-
@jimwh I do not clearly understand. Do you run websites in webpanels (in the panel at left)?
-
I have the KDE desktop on top of Debian Linux. On the bottom taskbar, I have a calendar app along with weather and trash. On the left, I have Vivaldi mail, terminal, and browsers. The date-time app is tied to my Gmail accounts.
-
@jimwh You installed with Vivaldi Apps?

This issue sounds close to this one that I found ,,,
