@guigirl It seems it's possible to move
Zoom
to the address bar. Someone is gonna be happy (Hi @Stardust).Hello!
We almost there!
2 things missing:
- not possible to drag zoom buttons to the addons area
- remove
reset
and make it compact:
My other experiments:

I don't see it listed in changelog, but seems that not being able to resize the browser's search bar has been corrected in this release.
I can confirm! Happy again!

It worked the way a floating panel should
Huh? Afaik, the design intent of floating panels was that they float over the page/UI content when they are open, not also when they're closed. The recently-fixed bug, during its brief life, obliterated page/UI content permanently. Not nice.
The
#switch
is part of the side panel, therefore if you have it set as an overlay it should overlay the page content. It's current iteration shifts page content (34px) to accommodate the switch. That's not a true overlay. I think what you are considering closed is not fully closed, it's just hiding the panel content but not the panel selector (switch), all of which are part of the side panel. This version is for those that keep the switch open at all times and toggle the panels from it rather than keyboard shortcuts or the panel toggle button -

Yep.
That's me.
Before, it was good. During the bug, it was horrible. Now, tis good again. -
That's not a bug though, that's how an overlay should function. An overlay (floating panel) shouldn't shift page content every time you toggle it open and closed, it should sit on top of it.
There should be another option included since this way is more of a partial overlay
-
@sjudenim Alright, whatever. I for one am grateful that the Devs went & fixed this "non-bug". It now once again behaves just like it has done for the entire life of Vivaldi [other than recent days], ie, not covering over the UI/page content. I like/need/want the Panel to be visible at all times, then with individual WPs opening [in Overlay] when i hover on them [via mod] & collapse again when unhovered. Presumably the Devs agree, otherwise they'd logically not have Confirmed the bug then Fixed it, but instead would have said Feature Not Bug, Won't Fix. Maybe you need to raise a FR?

I'm glad we had this conversation, coz afterwards i was contemplating your obviously different usage preference to mine. I then thought, oh what the hell, why not give it a try? So i've created a KB Shortcut [which i'll only rarely use] to Hide/Show the Panel, then matched said KBS into a new Mouse Gesture [which i'll use a lot]. It works fine, but i gotta say, after being used to 7 years of always-visible Panel, atm i'm still feeling quite discombobulated now not seeing it there, until each time i use my shiny new MG.
Who knows; maybe i might end up co-sponsoring your FR?

That's a biggy!
[Mail] Allow moving messages between accounts (VB-88735)
.Thanks a lot!
-
@stardust And of course, the downloads button uses Vivaldi's own design in on the status toolbar too, but not the navigation toolbar (where it uses the chromium material design instead).
-
How long will it take to fix the youtube fullscreen problem? I don't want to switch to the stable build, but if it takes a week then I'm gonna have to.
-
After updating to this new version, the search engine list has changed, and the
custom.js
only works partially. I pass the latter on to the author of the script, which does not work. -
-
@altcode That's why these settings are called vivaldi://experiments

@betamx Work is In Progress as i know. We do not give a timeline.
You need more patience -
@doctorg This was more of a jab at VB-84004, which seems to have been fixed for other toolbars, but not its native toolbar.
I trust that when this settings makes it out of
vivaldi://experiements
, this icon design inconsistency will be fixed for good everywhere. -
@doctorg Having readonly access to the bugtracker would definitely help with increasing my patience.

I think at this point even a fake site where you can input a VB-xxxx and you get a "work in progress, please wait!" message whatever you typed, would get the same result to you

@betamx Ask me as proposed by iAN-CooG.
