Doing a "Search for Image" using Google now directs to https://lens.google.com/upload and the page shows "Method Not Allowed". This happens even in a Guest Window.

      1. Can anyone confirm the bug so that I can report it?
      2. Any suggestions for workarounds?

Using Vivaldi 5.2.2623.24 on Windows 10.

UPDATE: This seems to happen for Private Windows but not for regular windows. Can anyone confirm?

@valiowk I get directed to a cookies consent form when I search for an image using Google on 5.2 Stable. If I customise the cookies consent, the image search loads just fine.

On 5.3 Snapshot, image search uses Bing, which works fine.

I don't use the Stable version, except for testing, so the default settings are unchanged. Have you modified search string at some point?

@pesala No, I have never modified the Google search string before. Though, now that you mentioned a cookies consent form, it sounds as though this may be related to 3rd party cookies. I tried in a regular window now (was testing in a Private Window earlier in addition to a Guest Window) and it seems to work fine in a regular window, so I'll go fiddle with cookie settings to see if that can fix the issue. Thanks for letting me know how it is on your end.

UPDATE: Tried fiddling with cookie settings, all google.com cookies and 3rd party cookies on google.com are allowed, still doesn't work. ๐Ÿ˜ž

@pesala Could I bother you to test image search using Bing in a Private Window? I tried switching to Bing but encounter a similar issue in a Private Window where the search does not go through - it shows the Bing Image Search page but not with the image that I tried to search for, just a generic search page. I am beginning to suspect that it is a general problem with image search in a Private/Guest Window. Thanks for your help!

@valiowk There's definitely an issue searching for images with Bing/Google in Private windows and Guest windows (Bing only in Guest).

I've tested with both 5.2 Stable and 5.3 Snapshot. The search engine implementation has been changed a lot between these versions, but the errors seem similar - looks like it does GET requests when it should do POST, or something like that.

The image search engines in 5.3 are really new, and I'm sure stuff like this will be straightened out over time.

EDIT: I've also tested with Private windows in 5.1 and 5.0 and the same thing happens, so this issue has likely been around for a very long time.

I'd say report a bug, it's probably a known bug but but I've not heard about anyone else reporting it. Make sure to specify and test in 5.3 Snapshot - IMO reporting a bug for image search in 5.2 Stable is kinda pointless now that the SEs have been reworked for 5.3. Better to focus on getting it right for 5.3.
