"Show activity indicators" doesn't work any longer in Vivaldi 5.2

I've 8 mail accounts and mail seems to work in a new Vivaldi 5.2 installation.
However, there is no flashing activity indicators when the app checks for new mail. Setting "Show activity indicators" on/off apparently doesn't change anything.
If I manually check the accounts, nothing is shown while the check is done. In the logs I find this line
[filter, store]initListEntries took 0ms.
repeated two times whenever I manually check the accounts.
Is it a bug?
