connecting with a external network: cpub-Explorer
-
good day dear experts - hello dear Vivaldi-friends
i am on MX-Linux: and i am connecting with a external network: cpub-Explorer
doing so - a file gets donwloaded
see a snippet of the file: cpub-explorer:
redirectclipboard:i:1 redirectprinters:i:1 redirectcomports:i:0 redirectsmartcards:i:0 devicestoredirect:s:* drivestoredirect:s:* redirectdrives:i:1 session bpp:i:32 prompt for credentials on client:i:1 span monitors:i:1 use multimon:i:1 remoteapplicationmode:i:1 server port:i:3389 allow font smoothing:i:1 promptcredentialonce:i:1 videoplaybackmode:i:1 audiocapturemode:i:1 authentication level:i:0
well - on windows such a approach to connect the external network runs without any issues -
but on linux if have my difficulties
what can i do now!?

@steelie This looks like an RDP (Remote Desktop) file.
Linux doesn't know what to do about such a file unless you install a client program that can handle it.
Read:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_Desktop_Protocol
http://www.rdesktop.org
https://remmina.orgMaybe someone who knows Linux well will help find a good client for your distro.
This is not really a problem with Vivaldi.

Like pathduck said, vivaldi is a browser and doesn't handle rdp.And after 15 yrs of using linux you should know. Lots of rdp options you can use such as remmina on mx (haven't you been told about that before?) https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=566647#p566647
