Solved Can't use short name of deleted bookmark
-
When trying to assign a short name of a deleted bookmark to a newly created one, there is no error or warning, and the short name gets discarded instantly. It can be used only when I permanently delete the old bookmark from trash.
-
@yalexaner If you edit an existing bookmark, which is not deleted, and assign it a nickname that is already in use, the edit is not saved. There is no warning here either.
Now that you know and understand the behaviour as designed, you will know what to do next time: Assign a unique name, or delete the bookmark from the Trash.

@yalexaner Expected behaviour because bookmarks could easily be deleted in error, and the user wants it restored together with its nickname. All nicknames must be unique.

@pesala, ok. But I still think maybe there should be some kind of warning, and it would say that you're trying to assign a short name that is in use by deleted bookmark. Because I spent a couple of minutes trying to realize why can't I use a short name if I just deleted the bookmark, it's kind of disappointing .
