Solved Downloads do not open, not just pdf, any file file type

I expect when i download say a pdf or whatever file type that it opens in the matching programm.
However nothing happens after the download. I need to find the file in a file manager and open it from there.
Internal pdf viewer is off.
What goes wrong here?
It happens on both an ubuntu and a linux mint laptop.
Vivaldi 5.0.2497.24 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit)

Issue is resolved by simply restarting Vivaldi. I assume an background update was the cause.

@rv376849 Have you checked to show downloads in a popup window? It is in settings >downloads.

@rv376849 Just to be sure (no offense!) - did you click on
openinstead ofsavein the download dialogue? -
Either opening the file directly in the download-popup OR in the download sidebar makes no difference. never ever will the file open.
