Livestreams video doesn't load on Odysee.
-
The content of the video doesn't load, and an error message is displayed:
"The connection was reset."
The rest of the page loads fine.
Regular videos on the site work fine as well. -
@maxizrin Hi - when posting about site issues, please always post a URL to the page in question if possible. It will save everyone time having to guess what you mean and searching for it. Not everyone knows what this "Odysee" is.
I'm unable to find any actual live streams on that site and I'm not going to spend much time browsing it. Videos seem to work fine though.
Please try the troubleshooting steps:

It's worth noting: this issue did not exist a couple of months ago.
The post was too long, so here's a pastebin:

@maxizrin I guess ESET Endpoint security 9.0.2032.6 could be the culprit, perhaps it does scan the video stream and cuts the connection.
@doctorg said in Livestreams video doesn't load on Odysee.:
Please check Troubleshooting issues.
What have you tested? With a fresh test profile (no settings, no extensions)?
-
@doctorg Didn't happen before, and I can't turn it off to check.
I'll test it on my home computer later today. How do I change profile?
-
@doctorg Tried using a new window with a guest profile, same issue.
-
@maxizrin And adding a test profile with Manage People and immediately closing Welcome page, making no settings and no adding of extensions?
-
@doctorg Nothing.
Same "Connection was reset" message for the stream video.
-
Try a reinstall of Vivaldi. Perhaps that can help if something in installation is broken.
If that does not help, i fear, then ESET cause such problems.
-
@maxizrin Connection Reset is a network error. Something either on your local machine, network or remote server is blocking requests to get the video stream.
Open Devtools (F12), go to network tab, reload page using Ctrl+F5, and look for red failing requests. Click the failing requests, note down the Request URL.
Check if you can connect to URL:
https://cdn.odysee.live
You should get a 403 Forbidden, that's expected. Not connection reset.Regular (not live stream) videos on the site seems to use:
https://player.odycdn.com/
Should get a 404 error for that URL.Also test in other browsers - Firefox, Edge, Chrome etc.
-
@pathduck Thanks, you got it!
There is indeed a connection issue.
And this also happens on Chrome.
(Should've checked sooner, my bad, I'm scatter-brained today)The good news is, it's not a Vivaldi issue.
The bad news is, I might need a VPN.Thanks for the help.
