Unsolved How to clear Vivaldi's Font Cache?
-
I'm noticing that any site that uses the Roboto font, it is replacing it with an entirely different font instead for some reason (Dummies font to be exact, and looks awful). I searched for a solution to this and came across this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/vivaldibrowser/comments/4tf6cn/font_rendering_looks_seriously_wrong_any_settings/
One of the suggestions was to delete the Chrome Font Cache as it has been known to get corrupted sometimes, however, I don't know how to do this. I'm also on Win7 if that changes the method needed to delete it.

@codemann8 Hi, check your Settings > Webpages > Fonts.
Defaults are:
There is no option for clearing "font cache" and the file referenced in the (very old) Reddit article does not exist.
Try also clearing cache.
https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/troubleshoot/troubleshooting-issues/#Delete_Browsing_DataIf you don't want to clear all cache but only for the site:
- Click Site Info button (lock icon), Site Settings, Clear Data.
or - Devtools (F12), Application tab, Storage, Clear site data.
- Click Site Info button (lock icon), Site Settings, Clear Data.

None of the above resolved the issue. I should be clear that ALL sites that reference Roboto font has this issue, so it's not a specific site.
Also, if I open the same page in Chrome directly, the same weird font shows up there too.
But thru Dev Tools, if I edit the CSS to remove Roboto, the font changes back to something more reasonable.
I don't have a special Roboto font installed so I'm not sure where it is actually sourcing this font from.

@codemann8 You read a more than 5 yr old reddit.
There is no Chromium Font cache you can reset.Font display problems are mostly caused by:
- one broken installed Windows font
- broken Windows font substitution
- broken graphics driver
- Graphics card's panel settings optimisation f.ex. FXAA or similar anti-aliasing
- a active Hardware Acceleration
see Vivaldi Settings → Websites → Use of Hardware Acceleration - broken browser cache
Delete Browser Data Ctrl+Shift+Del → time range All → Cache
