Native WEBP converter?
-
It might be just me, but webp image format is a pain to have when you download it. I get their purpose, but I hate them.
Some desktops just don't know what to do with it. When they first appeared I thought my hdd was becoming increasingly broken.
When in firefox I would use some unknown extension to right click and save as something else. But looking back, it could be very sketchy, and would be cool to have it as a native feature on vivaldi.
Either right click or automatically convert.
Does that make sense?

@fishoutoffire Just open the image in IrfanView or a similar image editor for your OS, and save it as JPG. Then you have full control over compression/quality, and more.
There are online image converters, e.g. webtojpg.com that can already be added as a Web Panel if this is something you use a lot.

Irfan is great for windows, I'm not using windows.
I am aware of the converters, it just makes it a workaround every single time. Which is why I figured something practical and automatic would be a cool tool to have.

Picosmos Tools -- bat-converter webp (jpg, gif) --> jpg , gif

@fishoutoffire Thank you for the suggestion. For now, we don't have plans on implementing anything like that. We're focusing on building better browser and browser-related services. Such specific tasks (as converting images) can be achieved through other means (dedicated software & other tools).
