Solved Video stutters while in full-screen at 2x speed
-
I think I determined the cause
On my entertainment monitor I auto switch between a custom 60hz and 47.954hz (24fps duplicate) automatically with my video player so that I dont have to drop frames or get repeats
Sometimes when exiting the player it doesnt swap back to 60hzRegardless, other browsers dont run into this issue, even at 4k60 3.5x speed as Ive done for years
If you look ever look into the issue this is where the incompatibility is coming from
Thanks

@Vallades said in Video stutters while in full-screen at 2x speed:
4k60fps
With Vivaldi 6.8 i see framedrops at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXb3EKWsInQ in fullscreen with 4K; with Chromium 127 little better, less drops, but stttering, too.
Seems to be my older NVidia. -
@DoctorG
Yeah it might not be handing it
You should not be getting drops or stuttering with any full sized gpu at 60fps though
try with vsync disabled to rule that out3x and I get no dropping, just few at 3.5 higher but nothing noticeable
Not that Im displaying these frames on my 4k monitor but they do on my 240fps thats 1080p -
@Vallades Can you test the video on Chrmium 127 for Windows if it is as without stutter?
-
@DoctorG Its really stable at 4x
Only drops were entering and exiting fullscreen -
@DoctorG
Try Edge
Its the most windows compatible and fastest browser atm
Still chromium -
Please report issue to Vivaldi bug tracker. Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail.
Send them: in an attachment the text of pagevivaldi://gpu

@Vallades And what happens if you change Settings → Appearance → Window Appearance → Disable "Use Animation"
But i guess that may not change much for you.

Will Do.
Says "Animations are disabled due to OS "Reduce motion" accessibility setting"
So its already disabled because of my reduced settings in windows Performance options window. I like my OS snappyWhats your cpu/gpu?
Have you tried a DDU in safe mode and reinstall of graphics drivers recently?
