Horizontal scrolling using short cut?
-
How can I enable horizontal scrolling using a short cut? Or can I create one? Thanks !
-
@vincej1 Default shortcuts already exist in Settings, Keyboard, Tabs.
- Previous Tab (by Order) = CtrlPgUp 1 Numpad1
- Next Tab (by Order) = CtrlPgDown 2 Numpad2

If u r talking about scrolling through tabs inside tabbar without switching tab, then the answer is:
-
First, setup a custom KB shortcut for Focus Tab Bar
-
Next, hit the shortcut to focus on tab bar,
-
Then, u can now hold Left/Right key to scroll through tabs, when you left go of L/R key the tabbar will scroll to the selected tab, hit ENTER to activate said tab.
It won't feel nice & it's kinda disoriented at first, but it works. If you want better keyboard support for tabbar, then made a request in the forum. -

@pesala thanks for that. this is not quite what I want. The new horizontal scrolling feature in Vivalid 5 requires that I move my cursor to the left or right arrow near the tabs bar and use that to move the whole tab bar left of right. I would like a short cut which will do the same, as I don't use a mouse, I use a key pad. @dude99 has mentioned building one. I guess that is the only way to go?

@vincej1 I recommend you set a hotkey for "Focus tab bar" in settings. Or use F6/Shift+F6 to set focus, then use the arrow keys to scroll.
And set Full Keyboard Access to "Focus All Controls" to allow you to focus the arrows to scroll.
Or, learn to use the Quick Commands, Tab Cycler or Window Panel to quickly find your tabs.

@pathduck thanks for that - will this world for the new Vivaldi 5 horizontal scrolling feature?
-
@vincej1 Of course, I wouldn't have said so otherwise
Like everything else, it has to be used to be learned, and you need to set appropriate hotkeys that suits you. In the video I use F6 to focus the tab bar, it just happens to focus there first. You can map another key to focus tab bar instead.
