Updated, now windows are pausing features in background, how to turn off?
-
Does anyone know how to turn off the feature that stops multimedia features(canvas in particular) from operating in background windows(not minimized but not in view)? Because with the some of the most recent updates, its really annoying me, that it won't continue unless I focus on the tab/window..

Turns out this is a feature...
I really need this turned off for what I want to do, which can involves multiple canvas in windows at once.

Maybe this is related to my problem also?

I've found a commandline setting that works. It would be better IMO for an experiments setting, as there was one before.
--disable-backgrounding-occluded-windows
You'll have to edit your shortcut to open though. Heres other options here: https://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/comments/rxcsjy/chrome_occlusion_problem_is_back_help_please/

@shoust
Btw, this didnt do anything with my youtube dropping frames in secondary window problem. -
Have you enabled the "temporary unexpire flags m96",
chrome://flags/#temporary-unexpire-flags-m96and then searched for "calculate native win occlusion" and disabled that?
chrome://flags/#calculate-native-win-occlusion
To see if that worked instead?

That is a nasty Chromium "feature", as i remember that hinders users from recording background video with OBS Studio.

Yes, i did those. I am not entirely sure, maybe it helps to drop a bit less frames, but it is still happening.
I even tried h264ify now, but that also doesnt change it.Until i just have 1 window open, youtube plays anything in that without frame drop. As soon as another window is open, and anything loads (like facebook, reddit do continous loading as you scroll) a lot of frames are dropped. Some sites even make the youtube video in the other to stop completely.
