Shortkey `K` doesn't work properly
-
In latest Vivaldi stable the Shortkey
K
to mark as read doesn't work properly. Mostly not, sometimes it works on a few mails.
Sometimes I have to click directly on the mail again, that is already highlighted, to get it marked. -
Yes. It does not typically work (although curiously sometimes it still does) when the text is selected.
I've reported this before as VB-84272 (Shortcuts not working reliably).
-
Hm. Works perfectly here. K marks mail read, and shift+K marks mails unread. Every time.
To begin with, of course, you have to have single-key shortcuts enabled.
But I wonder if there is an OS difference?
-
@ayespy Here it is on Linux Mint.
But, strangely, single-key shortcuts weren't enabled.
Although I didn't change that. It seems that due to latest update it became unchecked. Now it is working again.

@jumpsq Have you checked single-key shortcuts again?
-
@dancer18 Sure, single key has always been active for me, I use them extensively :).
-
@jumpsq So for me it works fine again after rechecking it, but for you not...
Good you made a bug report.

I do encounter the issue rather frequently, certainly not always, but when it happens it can be rather annoying. And I believe it happens more, but not only after I've Ctrl-clicked a link to open it in a background tab.
And then there is also at least one undocumented action for which a shortcut cannot be set,
Ctrl+Z
, which can be overridden by the global settings to reopen a closed tab. However, in the context of mail (and calendar) it should just mark a message as unread again if it was marked as read, move it back to where it was before, ... -
