      Hi there,

I would like to ask for help with the Gmail login window which pops up from time to time (every hour roughly). I don't use Vidaldi's email functionality and this popup bothers me a bit.

In the Settings I found nothing to be deactivated:

Thank you in advance for any help!

@prvock Hi - are you sure you've not added a Calendar sync to Google for instance?

The only reason for that dialog is it needs authentication to a Google service you've likely added yourself. Also possibly an extension could cause this.

If you don't use Mail/Calendar/Feeds you can just disable it in Settings > General.

@prvock I don't think Email client is needed anyway in a browser. Nobody used gmail client for accessing emails. Mobile app for gmail is enought to check mails once in a while and for corporate, people use outlook.

It's a waste of time to focus much on Mail, Contacts, Feeds, Calendar which is called as Productivity tools

@smerugu28 These things being integrated is about half the reason Vivaldi exists. It is nearly the entire reason I switched from Opera to Vivaldi as soon as I discovered Vivaldi was being developed. If you don't want these things, don't use them. But those of us who came here for them will continue to enjoy them. Having an integrated set of web tools saves me time and motion every day, so I'm pleased they are part of Vivaldi's raison d'etre, and that the devs work on improving them with each new release.

@ayespy Whatever it maybe you, but nothing can beat/replace MS Outlook.

A simple outlook extension is enough or add mobile site to side panel. I don't see the reason for adding email client in browser... Nobody is going to use it.

@smerugu28 While it may not be important to you or even me, there are still many people that want the mail client.

Just take a look at the support section of the forum for mail and you will see plenty of people are using it.

For my purposes, nearly anything can.
