It's hard for us to test this issue as we'd need a VPN connection to mainland China, but based on what you've shared it's possible that translation doesn't work due to China's Great Firewall. Whether it's a deliberate blocking of Vivaldi or just a wider block, we don't know.

@jane-n There are some online Great Firewall testing tools, not sure how reliable these are though, as results are inconsistent.

I trust the last two results most, as they seem focused on performance and not the FW specifically. And results show HK as working, which makes sense (for now... wonder how long it will last )

@jane-n 如果真是那样，那确实是个问题。或者可以给浏览器增内置VPN的功能解决这个问题，不知道是否容易做到或者与第三方合作来解决？

另外有些其他建议
①增加视频投屏到电视的功能（如web video caster的功能）
②增加视频调用MXplayer、nplayer或者其它播放器进行播放的功能
③增加脚本的功能来获得更好的体验

vivaldi是一个很棒的浏览器，我会持续关注，继续加油

I have never used the Vivaldi Translator successfully. I set "简体中文" as my first choice. And I set it on the pages. Olny to get errors and pages never be translated even another language showed out, which made me feel strange.

It is not in settings. Select some text and translate the selected text, or use the Translator Panel.

Whatever "select some text and translate the selected text", or "use the Translator Panel", doesn't work.

@yoghurtlu The source language is the top field, it should be English or Auto-detect if the source language is English.

The target language is the bottom field, it should be Chinese if you want to translate from English to Chinese.

Look from the pictures as I have given before, “the top field” can't be changed but the language is sure "auto-detect" on the page.

In fact, Vivaldi Translator have never work successfully to translate from any language to another for me.

I think there were something wrong in your software, not in my settings.
