Unsolved Why is there no option to allow site notifications in "Website XYZ has been denied showing notifications"?
-
'Change' just takes me to notification prefs in Vivaldi. 'OK' dismisses the popup.
-
@wizardling Hi - you can click the "Lock" icon left on the address bar, it will show a dropdown and you can put it back to "Ask" or "Allow".
Clicking "Change" on that dialog you show will actually bring you to the "Chromium" settings, not Vivaldi settings. You can remove a site from "Not allowed" or set it explicitly to allow:

@pathduck All I see for this particular site is
For other sites with notifications (like Fastmail or Google Drive) I do see a notification popup menu in that site dropdown, yeah.
-
@wizardling OK and this is the
webchat.twit.tv
site? What are your settings under Privacy > Default Permissions?
Do you have any sites blocked/allowed on the page you see when clicking "Change"?
On that site, I get:
Then if I choose Block:
Try going to (paste into url bar):
chrome://settings/content/all
Find the site, choose Reset Permission in the 3-dot menu. -
@pathduck Default notification permissions are 'Ask'. For this site I never got the dropdown to ask. I'd really rather not reset all my permissions, unless I absolutely have toโฆ

@wizardling What is your Vivaldi version and OS from Help > About?
I'd really rather not reset all my permissions
I didn't ask you to reset all, just for that one site, you can find it under
chrome://settings/content/all
I made a quick video showing my results for that page, clean profile of Vivaldi 5.0, Win10 x64:
https://ttm.sh/iir.mp4Maybe you have done something like installed an extensions or something else is blocking on your system. Try the troubleshooting steps:

@pathduck Well, as I say I tried resetting just that site's permissions, to no avail.
Vivaldi 5.0.2497.48 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

OS Windows 10 Version 21H1 (Build 19043.1469)
JavaScript V8 9.6.180.23 -
@wizardling Did you go into the site's options and check the "Emit HTML5 Notifications" option?
-
@pathduck Yuppers.
-
@wizardling The site saves your settings in cookies so maybe something got corrupted in cache and it no longer is able to give you the prompt asking to allow notifications.
Try going to:
chrome://settings/content/all
and choose "Clear data" for the site.
