Question regarding Bookmark Page icon colour
-
Hello there, not sure if this is a bug report or feature request, or just a question about Bookmark Page icon behaviour.
Is the Bookmark Page icon supposed to change colour when the current page is already bookmarked? This is usual behaviour in other browsers, and is a visual marker that the page is already in the bookmarks, so it doesn't need to be added again. Not sure if that color change was implemented in Vivaldi but now has stopped working, or it never was available in the first place. I think I have a vague memory of icon changing colour after bookmarking in the past, but I may be mistaken.
If this is a bug, may I politely ask for a fix? And if it was never implemented, please consider this a feature request, thanks.
For the record: using latest Windows snapshot, tested also in 2514.11 with same result.

It is supposed to become darker, and it does, but not always. Try with different bookmarks and see if you can spot a pattern.

If you have bookmarked a redirector rather than the page itself, then the ribbon icon in the address bar stays hollow since the page doesn't match the bookmark. There is a possibility that if the link includes parameters - or if the page changes the protocol (from http to https, for example) that it might not recognize that either.
The bookmark that comes with Vivaldi for the Vivaldi Community site is an example of a redirector. But links found in Google searches are often the same way.. If you edit the existing bookmark and change it to the actual page you end up on instead of the original link URL then the ribbon should change to show the page is bookmarked.

@pesala Seems like problem for me was due to theme contrast differences The Subtle theme is so subtle (pun intended) that I didn't see icon has changed. Switched to another theme and the problem resolved itself.

@acnapyx No problem for me using the Subtle theme.
