Fix for the extension store – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2553.3

@urfausto:
You can open settings and under each account in the mail settings there's an alias tab.
There you can add your alias (can also have separate display name and signature for the alias).Does this answer your question?
-
@gmg yes, thank you very much. unbelieavable! i will try everything than when it is published on the main channel.
-
@society:
Did you see my post above?
You can add aliases in the mail settings under the account. There should be an alias tab there.
The correct address should be used when replying and you can choose it from the dropdown in the composer. -
@gmg Yes, saw your post and was also given answer on Mail support forum. My bad - I'd managed to not notice the 'Aliases' tab when scanning Mail Settings.
Pre-defining is sub-optimal for my purposes. Ad hoc creation when composing and auto-suggestion derived from the To: address of email to which I'm replying would suit better - but any way to use an alias is better than none. Thanks.
-
@society
That can of course be added. Make a bug and send me the bug number.
These seem to be two bugs. One to offer making an alias when composing, the other to suggest adding the alias on reply -
I LOVE this addition:
[New][Mail] Alias mail addresses for a mail account: supports aliases with same SMTP server (VB-12785)It would be perfect if you could support setting a different SMTP server/credentials. Is that planned for the future?

Yes, such feature is planned.
-
[Mail] Import from Thunderbird fails if email aliases exist (VB-85871)
Huh? We can import from Thunderbird now? How? Where?
-
@vulture From the File Menu, Import from Applications or Files, the same way that you import bookmarks etc.
-
@pesala: awesome! thx!

I cannot get the Linux packages. I've got a "ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE" when I click on the link to download it.
I also got the following error when I execute an "apt-get update" in the Terminal: "certificate verification failed: the certificate is not trusted. the name in the certificate does not match the expected. could not handshake: error in the certificate verification."

Which package?
Which repo do you use?Repo for Debian+Ubuntu DEB and Manjaro RPM works for me.

I do not remember the repo. I thought that I would fix it by "reinstalling" Vivaldi's PPM. I planned to delete the PPM from Software Sources, download the most recent DEB package and then install it. I deleted the PPM but I cannot get the most recent DEB package on the page. As a result I cannot tell you which repo I used. I will try to look for an old .deb package on my computer, if there is still one on it.

I get this error, when I try to use the link on the page here, to download it:
The webpage at https://downloads.vivaldi.com/snapshot/vivaldi-snapshot_5.1.2553.3-1_amd64.deb might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.UPDATE: seems to be working now.

A file save dialog of OS appears and you can select filename and folder to save the CSV file.
-
@doctorg: Don't throw up the pop-up panel for me ...!?
-
@laca Which OS? Please describe step by step how you export the logins.
-
Any insight in
vivaldi-snapshot-5.1.2553.3-2
? Was there an error with a preliminary release, is this an internal build only?It seems to have vanished from the public vivaldi servers, but
herecura
still offers it. -

Looks like it is the same for me. I finally managed to download the .deb file. Then I perform a
dpkg -i
on it and it looks fine now.PS: my Vivaldi PPA seems to be
https://repo.vivaldi.com/snapshot/deb stable InRelease
, according tosudo apt-get update
.
