Nextcloud CalDAV, not syncing events
-
I am able to successfully log in and load calendar list. In settings all calendars are set to active and according to settings sync is on. However I do not see any events and cannot create new one. 'Done' button seemingly does not react to click.

@chovanr @ludo444 Sorry for late reply, didn't notice this thread until now.
I have tested with a couple of nextCloud servers and they seem to work fine for me.
The fact that "Done" button does not work properly suggests to me that connection to the calendar database might have been lost which is a condition that we know can happen but have not been able to pinpoint how it happens but it might be connected to network interruptions. A restart of Vivaldi should fix that particular problem.
If you have persistent problems with not getting events from the server please report back.
Thanks for trying out Vivaldi Calendar and taking the time to report, it is appreciated.

Ah, I forgot about the possibility of inactive calendars.
For a short while we had a bug which caused all calendars to become inactive if there was a network error. You may have been hit by that.
Good to hear that things are back to working.

My 'sync calendar' button is active, this problem is persisting across browser and computer restarts. I can try later under a clean profile. Maybe on different computer also.

Just to be sure, "Hide from Calendar View" is not checked either?
Also, do you still have the problem of the "Done" button not working?

I can switch between calendars in Calendar page, but cannot create or see events. Thunderbird works.
-
I tried it with completely fresh config (temporary deleted ~/.config/vivaldi) and I can see events for calendars that are operated directly in Nextcloud fine. So something is broken with my profile, is there possibility to try to remove some files to reset only calendar depended parts while keeping all rest of configs, extensions, bookmarks?
What was not working though were online .ical calendars in Nextcloud. I could see them in list of calendars but events were not loading, I suppose Vivaldi expected only CalDAV ones?

@ludo444 Sorry for late response.
If you want to only reset the calendar data you can delete the database file from the profile. If you go to the profile folder there should be a file named Calendar, note that there is no filename extension so some people have had a hard time finding the file because of it.
There is also Calendar.journal file next to it, it is related but not used. Should not matter if you delete that one or not.
Hope this helps.

ps. Regarding the iCal calendars in nextcloud, I guess that is something that we have not encountered or thought of. Not even sure how it works. Our code assumes only CalDAV calendars for a CalDAV account.
It may be possible for you to hide those calendars from the CalDAV account and add them separately in Calendar settings. But I don't know if it will work that way.

This got a bit lost for me, as I was just continuing with Thunderbird, but today tested removing
Calendar
file under my profile, and now I see events syncing. Thanks. -
