[BUG] Go To & After Related Tabs
-
Using the right-click shortcut menu option "Go to <URL>" to open a URL with "After Related Tabs" selected in the settings results in the new tab being created at the end of the tab list, not after the related tab.
To Replicate:
-
Set new tab settings to "After Related Tab"
-
Open a new tab
-
Go back to first tab
-
Highlight the URL below, right click, select "Go to" option from menu
New tab will be created at end of tab list, not next to the related tab as expected.

@aerogems Seems to work fine here.
Please try the troubleshooting steps:

I swear I checked this before I posted... Anyway, you're using a different function than what I'm talking about.
First you need to find a URL that is just plain text, not a hyperlink. The site with plentiful examples is private unfortunately and I'm unable to quickly find another. So just copy and paste the following into a text editor, save it as a .html file and then open it using Vivaldi.
<html>
<head>
<title>Vivaldi Test Page</title>
</head>
<body>
https://www.vivaldi.com
</body>
</html>Using the mouse cursor, select and highlight the URL and then right click on the highlighted text. There will be a menu option that says Go to "https://www.vivaldi.com" which will then open a tab at the end of the tab list instead of next to the related tab as it should. The internal logic should be the same as the open new tab option you used in your video, but it appears to be separate and broken.
Here's a quick screenshot I took showing the menu item I am referring to.

@aerogems Hi, sorry I misunderstood. Yes, using the "go to" feature when right-clicking selected text containing a URL, it opens as the last tab.
I suspect this is part of the Chromium base, and it just opens a new tab on the end. The "Open after related" feature is part of Vivaldi and so these features do not work in a consistent manner.
I guess you could always try reporting a bug, but I'm not sure what the V devs are able to do in the short term at least.
Please read:
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker

It works as expected in other Chromium browsers such as Edge and even Chrome. It used to work in earlier versions of Vivaldi. I flip between browsers when I feel like using something different and it broke at some point during the last time I did that. It's annoying because it's literally the only thing keeping me from using Vivaldi right now. I use that function pretty extensively every day, so it being broken is a deal breaker for me unfortunately.
