The Vivaldi team warns against this, but here is the link to the old Vivaldi versions:

@simongoodman Why do you want to downgrade Vivaldi? Describe here what problems you have with your current Vivaldi. There are experts here in the forum who would help you.

@simongoodman , it's not recomended to do, can break the profile. If there are issues in your version, test first if it is caused by extensions or settings, testing Vivaldi in a Guest Profile, or made a Bug Report.
Better to wait to the next update, which are on the way, maybe this solve your problems. -
Links from gmail are being blocked, I'm assuming it's a "security" upgrade. I had a Malwarebytes extension (disabled), but I've removed it, not made any difference.
(It's been a day with more than enough grief, I just wanted an easy evening n'quick fix.)

@simongoodman Links from GMail are not being blocked here. I have to assume it's something to do with your profile, or 3rd-party security, rather than the version number.

@simongoodman Downgrades (with Chromium core version changes) cause unexpected issues with broken browser profile.
We can not assist users to fix issues after they downgraded and broke their browser data.
️Do not downgrade

@simongoodman Please check Troubleshooting issues, perhaps a rebuild of your profile can help.

@stardepp Thanks for the archive link.
The reason for downgrading from 5.0 to 4.3 (Linux Mint, auto-upgrade was arranged via apt package manager) is the annoying upon-start dialog box regarding h.264 codec. This codec is already present on Mint - e.g. on Chromium, h.264 operates well.Since Vivaldi is used by an non-experienced member of my household, I decided to roll back via the archive, in order to maintain comfortability.
The re-install of 4.3 over 5.0 gave (apparently) no issues regarding the configuration. -

Your risk. Such downgrades can give you unexpected issues as the Chromium core is different and profile may not be always compatible.
Ane it is not easy to help user with browser profiles broken by such downgrade. -
Well, of course I read the contents of this thread before. Because the household member uses Vivaldi only for all day browsing without using many of its features, I took the risk of - e.g. - losing all the open browser tabs upon opening.
When I wouldn't do so, I'd had the risk that the household member would ask me to install another browser...
