Youtube improvement suggestions - Theater mode
-
Hey Vivaldi audience,
Am I the only one that has been using Stylish and their Full Theater mode extension?
Okay, so, let me explain. Your normal Youtube experience looks something like this, yes?
^ Random photo I grabbed off the internet
I would like to see a baked-in "full screen" theatre mode done in Vivaldi. This way, when you open a video on Youtube, the video would imitate full screen (no black bars on the sides) but you can scroll down to see other content as well (video suggestions, comments etc).
^ Ignore the black bars, the extension doesn't deal all that well with my laptop (1920x1080 with header) but it doesn't show on my PC. When I go full-screen mode (F11), they don't show. The important thing is, when we click theatre mode, that those bars (for videos that are natively in 720p or 1080p) don't show.
Oh, the extension also hides the scrollbar, which is neat!
So yeah, @VivaldiDevs, get on it. Make our YT viewing experience more amazing.
Cheers,
Dan. -

I don't think we're ever going to do anything like that. Our developers would have to keep up with the changes being made on YouTube, not to mention, that it's a matter of personal preferences, and there would probably be many users who wouldn't appreciate it anyway.
It's something that can already be achieved by using an extension, and that should be sufficient for those who'd like to modify web pages in such a way.
