Delete attachments from emails
-
"inspired" by the thread Vivaldi Mail = Full SSD here is a suggestion to save disk space (also quota on your imap server). Since one draft powerpoint file can easily be as big as 100 plain text emails, unneeded attachments can lead to a large amount of trash data. At the same time, you may want to keep the email for the body text (workaround: forward email to yourself, thus removing the attachment, delete the original).
In HCL Notes you can choose to remove individual attachments or all of them, and also whether or not you want to save them to some location of your choice at the same time). The deleted attachment will be replaced with a string in the mail body saying [attachment deleted by .... ]. What I am missing in that function is the path to the location that I saved the attachment to while deleting it from the email.

Hi,
This remains only a workaround.
It is not fwd but reply (and change recipient). Indeed fwd keeps the attachments.
I have also myself request a dev of functionality on march 2022.
Cheers
