Vivaldi and Marcus/Goldman Sachs
-
I recently switched from using Firefox as my primary browser to Vivaldi. Ran into a problem with one of my financial sites today. Tried to access my Marcus/Goldman Sachs account and after filling in my log-in credentials, was taken to some sort of GeoBlock page indicating that their products were not offered outside of the US .... and I am most certainly located in the US. Strange thing is that I have no trouble accessing their site using another chrome-based browser. Reported this problem to the Marcus tech people (who were clueless), but wanted to check here as well.

@drhi Vivaldi doesn’t change your IP address. So either you have some extension running, or some kind of VPN service setup for Vivaldi. If neither of these things turns out to be the case, the site is at fault itself. Vivaldi’s user agent masquerades as Chrome, just maybe the versions listed confuse the site and they give you a wrong (be it intentional or unintentional) error message.

Neither applies. No extensions, no VPN. And, was pretty sure that Vivaldi wasn't the problem ... which I explained to the "tech" folks at Marcus. I even told them that I had tried another Chrome-based browser (Brave) and had no problems. So hoping that they look into their site coding (though not holding my breath). Thanks.
