Tab open in background not working
-
In setting, ticking the box "New from Link opens in background" opens the Tab in the foreground.
It makes no difference if Box is ticked or not.

@wigselinux It is just a misunderstanding of what the setting does.
Left-click on a link still opens it in the current tab, or a new tab, depending on how the web page link is encoded.The setting affects the first item on the Link Context Menu.
- Open Link in New Tab
If the setting is enabled, this opens web page links in a new background tab.

I understand how it works but it doesn't open the new Tab in the Background
-
@wigselinux Then I guess it is a problem only on Linux.

@pesala Possibly

Troubleshooting issues | Vivaldi Browser Help -
According to Vivaldi help :
If you enable New Tab from Link Opens in Background in Settings > Tabs > New Tab Position, links from Bookmarks and History will open in the background by default. Also, when enabled, selecting Open Link in New Tab from the right-click context menu or cloning a tab will open a new tab in the background instead of foreground.
Is that what it's not working for you? Because here it works fine.

Select it or not, it makes no difference here with my browser, version 5.4.2753.51 (Stable channel) (64-bit) .
