Hi all. Loving Vivaldi. Ill admit to not having read the seventy other pages, but the two features from Opera 12 that I'd love to see in Vivaldi is the 'copy to note' (which is there already and 'insert note' (which doesnt appear to be there) But I am using the Linked Notes extension…But the other is the right click context menu of a downloaded file, Id like to have the ADVANCED menu like Opera 12...Included is the screenshot...Thank you

The post I wrote here won't appear it seems. I would like the ADVANCED context menu when right-clicking a downloaded file like it was in Opera…Whoops there it is.

          Hi guys,

First of all thanks for pursuing the previous efforts of Opera, back when it was still great and not trying to get "lighter" like other browsers instead of being powerful and customized.

          Here's what I suggest :
          [ol]

          • Customize the default zoom for the content of the pages. Right now it always open at 100% but I need 120% since I have a 23" screen and I'm pretty far from it. The letters in the pages just are to small
          • Moving tabs to another page by clicking, holding, and releasing it out of the browser
          • And an old feature in old Opera, to display the tabs as a mosaïc, by choosing it when right-clicking in a tab. It saves spaces contrarily to using several different pages close to each other.
            [/ol]

EDIT : Other features (no need to create another post)

          [ol]

          • Being able to not load automatically videos from websites.
          • In the Speed dial feature, being able to choose how many columns we want, even if it has to diminish the size of the tabs
            [/ol]

Hello everyone! First time start Vivaldi, it looks pretty but some things work just not as expected.
            1. I really hope developers will implement autoscrolling feature soon. I really don't like to scroll long texts manually.
            2. I'm using Linux (Ubuntu and OpenSUSE), and really enjoy how it handles window control buttons so I can click on mouse wheel on expand button and window will expands vertically. But buttons in Vivaldi works different, so I just loose this functionality.
            3. Another thing which I hope to see in Vivaldi is spell-checking 🙂 I'm not so good in English so I hope everyone understand what I talking about (without spell-check)…
Thank you very much for your work 🙂

                Hello all,

When Opera created it’s blink engine, it was not possible to upgrade from Opera 12 without loosing passwords and Search engines.
I thought that one day I would be able to use Opera Link with blink Opera and perform data transfer. I was wrong, Opera Link will be shut down in three weeks.

As usual with the new Opera management, their migration tool to Opera Sync only transfer bookmarks, the remaining will be lost.
Still today, not being able to transfer my browser data is the major thing that prevent me to to go on the new Google Drive.

Unlike browser files where you don’t have the source code necessary to read the .dat files, the Opera Link ᴀᴘɪ is public

So their is a few day remaining to provide a unique way for Presto Users like me to really upgrade to an another browser. Moreover, the browser that aim at re‑implementing features of classic Opera like tab Preview.

Their should be no risk of legal risk unfair competition since Opera choose to not allow this. You’ll simply providing something that Opera users want and Opera Software refuse to produce.

Hope you’ll read this soon enough.

Hi, I'm a new user of Vivaldi. Have been using it for a few weeks now, and I already know this will be my go-to browser. I though I would list the things that are the main drawbacks/missing features at the moment. I'm sure many of them have been mentioned several times before, and I apologize on advance for that. If I'm lucky some of my issues are not really issues at all, or might have been solved without me knowing.

                  I currently have the 1.0.334.3 32bit version.

                  [ol]

                  • Setting default zoom level - it always reverts back to 100 %
                  • Pocket extension not working
                  • Open link in tab next to active one
                  • Autocomplete suggesting specific link or bookmark instead of main website (for instance when writing "yout" autocomplete will suggest the address of a certain youtube video instead of the main site "youtube.com"
                  • Not able to open new or toggle open tabs when a page is loading (it waits until the active page has loaded before it does anything else).
                  • Snap off a tab to open in new window by dragging it.
                  • Re-arrange extension placement by dragging the icons right or left.
                  • Mini-vew of download progress without having to open download pane
                  • Some control over what happens when you close a tab - move to next, previous or last open for instance
                    [/ol]

                  Keep up the good work!

                    Hi!

There is a very useful behavior in the good old Opera. When you add a bookmark from the side panel auto-completion of URL and title occurs.

But when you do the same in Vivaldi with "New Bookmark" button from the side panel auto-completion doesn't happen. I know that there is auto-completion in Vivaldi for "Add Bookmark" button that is near the address bar, but in this case you need to specify the folder for the new bookmark. It's alright when you have few bookmark folders, but when you have a large tree of folders it's not an option. And I believe that it's better to use a single tree both for navigation and editing.

Please, add auto-completion of title and URL for the "New Bookmark" button on the side panel.

                    Thanks!

                        Hello,

is it possible to use keyboard shortcut that would take me directly to Bookmark search window? Without using my mouse at all.

                          Possible, but far from easy.

New Tab (Ctrl T) to open speed dial, then press Tab multiple times until you reach the Bookmarks. Press enter to open the bookmarks manager, then press Tab multiple times until you reach the search panel. Something like Auto HotKey might make it possible with one key stroke, but I am not familiar with that.

Hi Pesala, thanks for your tip, about bookmark search,

after I have done some exploring I found a simple solution that works greatly for me: press F2 and type, simple as that. It's not the same thing, but it's good enough.

Highlight a word or words - right-click, select Search with and choose one of any number or user-installed search engines. This is a very useful feature in Opera and will go a long way towards making Vivaldi my primary browser.
                                Thank you

                                      It is starting to look good. Only thing I am missing is;

                                      • Open tab in a new window: Nice to have the option to split the tab into a new window so that I can move it to another monitor.
                                      • Open tab next to active
                                      • Ability to right click on extensions to manage them. So that you don't need to go via the file menu.

                                      Keep up the good work!

Unicode for URLs in the address bar would be nice.

I switched to Firefox from Opera 12 and implemented a few add-ons to make up for lacking functionality (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/sblask/) I'd seriously consider switching if the functionality would make it into Vivaldi (the coming integrated mail is the killer feature!). In particular:

                                          • click on tab to "minimize" tab, see https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-deque/ for more information, especially the clickToBackground option, there should also be a mouse gesture and keyboard shortcut for that
                                          • it should be possible to open new tabs next to the current one
                                          • copy from selection to note, insert from note (I had implemented https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/simple-form-fill/ to fill this gap)
                                          • FastForward should be triggered with space at a page's bottom (see https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/space-next/) and go through images, possibly with a different shortcut (see https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-forward/)
                                          • all mouse gestures should be configurable, I also missed the open link in background gesture
                                          • from my speed dial extension that is still in review(https://github.com/sblask/firefox-bookmark-dial): automatic number of rows/columns to always fill the screen, configurable speed dial folder(use case: one folder for work, one folder for home while using the same sync account), add current page directly through context menu

I also love the possibility to configure keyboard shortcuts, this should include shortcuts coming from extensions.
