(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests

- It should be possible to create bookmark groups so you can load a Group of sites at the same time.
Saving and loading of sessions is already possible. You can also load a bookmark folder of up to 20 tabs at once time.
Firefox has something (don't remember what) that adds Load All Bookmarks In Tabs as the last entry when a bookmark subfolder is displayed inside the Bookmarks drop down. That would kind of do what you want and would be nice to have anyway.
I have all my banking links in one bookmarks subfolder in Firefox and I can open them all in tabs using this feature when I am making sure all my financial stuff is up to date. Also useful when I save a bunch of related shopping links and want to look at them all at once.

I think this has been requested before, but I can't find it.
The bookmark manager displays folders in a tree which is necessary for organizing a lot of bookmarks. That part works great, but when I try to add a bookmark, it displays all the folders as a flat list. This is almost totally unusable because I have many nested folders of bookmarks and some even have the same name like "howto" which can only be identified by their position in the bookmark folder tree.
The Add Bookmark dialog should show the folders as a tree exactly the same way the regular Bookmarks display works so that it is possible to navigate to/search for/identify the right folder to add the new bookmark into.

When I click on a link in the browser, there is often a long (3 - 10 seconds) delay before the link starts loading. Once it starts loading, the address bar becomes a progress bar (a bit hard to see as others have noted) that tells me something is happening.
I assume that the delay itself is caused by factors external to Vivaldi - like the time it takes for the web server to respond.
What I would like is for some indication to appear immediately to let me know that Vivaldi has received the request and is working on it. Without this, my tendency is to think that nothing is happening and I often click on the link repeatedly until something visible occurs. This wastes system resources and often causes multiple identical tabs to be opened unintentionally. I.e., It's really annoying.
It just needs an "I'm working on it" icon or indicator to appear (and to go away when it's done).

I would like to be able to set keyboard shortcuts for Navigation Left, Up, Right, and Down (what the arrow keys currently do). The shortcuts are already there for Spatial Navigation, and it would be nice if I didn't have to install Vimium to configure these to hjkl. Even if we couldn't unmap the arrow keys, it would still be nice to be able to add these mappings.

How about a Torrent downloader like torch as well as a audio/video grabber?
screencastify (from chrome) works pretty well as a video grabber.

@crypto_bird:
Perhaps, to change up the typical bookmarks thing, we should be able to tag our bookmarks. for example, I might have vivaldi's website bookmarked with the tags #browser, #mail, #forum, or something like that. This would be great for opening bookmarks in new tabs with the command palette. Right now, if I want to open a bookmark from the palette, I have to remember the name or nickname of the website, but if you could type in "design" and see all of your bookmarks that were tagged with design, that would make the bookmarks and the command palette coexist and play off of each other really well.
I use tags extensively in Firefox to find bookmarks and to handle the frequent case of a bookmark fitting in more than one category. I really miss this in Vivaldi.

Hi. Finally some JS bugs which prevented me from using it on my job disappeared!)
The only thing I miss now is searching a clipboard content by middle-click.
(It exists in Opera 12x)Thank you for all your efforts!
PS. one more thing! when you search, it should open a new tab!!! (saint Opera style)
P.P.S. the last thing (I promise:) - right button pressed + scroll should go through tabs (saint Opera style) -
Developer Tools:
- allowing Dev Tools to be shown in the same window instead of another or in the web panel
- emulator of mobile devices
- Transform 3D: could be like the feature in firefox that displays all the objects and their layers
Web Panel Support:
- Developer Tools
- Bug Fix: Scaling the web panel is buggy, the border doesn't follow the cursor 1:1 (all OSes)

Hi everyone!
A feature that I want to ask for is not very critical but it would be nice to have it.
Is it possible to change a Developer Tools icon to something other than the Vivalid browser icon? It is a bit misleading when you see two almost identical icons and you should remember which icon is the browser itself and which one is its dev tools.Let me add a screenshot:
I think it will be nice to change current Dev Tools icon to more distinctive one.
Thanks. -
Hi !
It would be great to have the ability to open all the bookmarks in bookmarks bar (without folders).
And be able to right click on a bookmark in a bookmarks bar folder to open a menu instead of opening the site. Thanks

Folder for temporary downloads
At work I'm using a lot of files for only opening them and working them temporarily. For example only opening and viewing and printing documents and opening large ISO files and burning them via burning software. Everytime in Opera I get dialog "Open or Save" and I only Open downloaded files. File will be downloaded and onep in default software for this filetype.
It is perfect, because I have also in Opera sets folder for downloaded files for files, which I want really download and save, not only opening them.
So I have both folders, Download is clear for downloaded files and temporary_downloads for opening files. Temp folder is cleared manually time to time.
BUT! In Vivaldi (and every Chromium browsers) are nothing like temporary download folder. Its necessary for me, I cannot use Vivaldi at work, because I should have one folder for every downloaded and opened files and it will be mess, anarchy and mess again. It is not good and usefully. Please, make something with it.
Thanks.

- Mouse gestures sensitivity. In Opera 12, at close tab gesture, just 5 pixels to the right was enough to close the tab, which made navigation more comfortable. In Vivaldi threshold is higher, so it often happens to me that the new tab is opened instead of closure. Please change it or add an option to set sensitivity.
- Possibility to remove the home button from toolbar.
This one is ANNOYING and makes the mouse gestures almost useless for me (which was actually one of the main selling points for me)

- Possibility to remove all buttons from toolbar (lika back, forward, reload and home).
- Hold left mouse button and press right mouse button would fill login form with saved login information AND confirm and send login form - if is form selected.
- Hold left mouse button and press right mouse button would make one step forward in history
- Hold right mouse button and press left mouse button would make one step back in history.

5. Hold right mouse button and scroll mouse wheel would make zoom in/out
(Some kind of advanced hotkeys settings when one of the buttons is pressed)

Right now its impossible to add bookmark between folders with URL D&D.
-
Can you please add a good locking mechanism, which would enable the user to use a password to access his account ? While the others can browse as guests and cannot see my history ?
-
Option to align the content in the bookmarks bar to the left/middle/right.
Choosing what bookmarks to display as icons-only, text-only and both per bookmark, overriding the default setting for the folder. -
Thanks for the "paste and go" in address bar.
How about a "copy link text" in the right click menu within the main browser page view?
I second the motion !!
To be able to Right Click and Copy the current URL to the clipboard is a real necessity for me.

"Intelligent" domain suggestion based on bookmars and history
Right now when I start to type domain name, typically Vivaldi suggests three groups of addresses on the list below:
1. Search engine
2. Bookmarks
3. HistoryIt would be another one (first or second on the list): plain domain found in history and bookmarks entries, eg.:
I have in the history URL: foobar.com?xyz=3e32&dede&r4r=de or foobar.com/bla/blabla
and when i type "foo" browser might suggesst also simple foobar.com domain, without any extra arguments. This may by nice feature in ebay like services. Right now I have to add extra start-page to my bookmars for every page this type.
