Anyone else ever used "The Great Suspender" from Chrome or newer Opera?
It suspends tabs reducing memory usage.
Could this be built into Vivaldi?Lazy tab loading was on the Feature Request Poll.

1. Make tabs reach the top of the screen because it just makes it hard when you're used to getting your cursor all the way to the top then you have to move it a little bit down just to get to the tab itself.
I want this - as do others - but there is a slight problem concerning how the tabs are stacked. Right now the tabs that are stacked show up with little bars above the tab. When the tabs are tight to the top of the screen these bars disappear so there is now way to see which tabs are stacked. IF the tabs are set tight to the top a new way must be found to visually show it. I don't think that would be difficult but it's just another thing that needs some attention. I hope it shows up eventually as an option.

Tree-style tab order would be wonderful for doing research. The Tree-style tabs on Firefox are my number one reason for continuing to use Firefox. I like to have many tabs open and this helps them stay organized.
For those who've not seen it, tree-style tabs present tabs in a vertical tab bar with the child-parent relationship between tab-pages retained and rendered. Also tabs typically could be collapsed so that some sub-tree of tabs is hidden.
So you might have tabs that look like this.
Topic 1 (top-level page, not opened from within another page)
- Topic 1.1 (opened from a link in Topic 1)
- Topic 1.2 (opened from a link in Topic 1)
– Topic 1.2.1 (opened from a link in Topic 1.2) - Topic 1.3 (opened from a link in Topic 1)
Topic 2 (top-level page, not opened from within another page)
Topic 3 (top-level page, not opened from within another page) - Topic 3.1 (opened from a link in Topic 3)
-- Topic 3.1.1 (opened from a link in Topic 3.1)
--- Topic 3.1.1.1 (opened from a link in Topic 3.1.1)

When typing in the address bar, relevant autocompletions should remain in place while the user is typing. e.g., if I type "viv", it is autocompleted to "vivaldi.com". But if I then type "a" (spelling "viva"), that autocompletion disappears for a second and then reappears. This should not happen; "vivaldi.com" should remain in the URL bar since it is still relevant.
Firefox does this too and it is extraordinarily frustrating, since if I am typing a URL quickly, and hit enter as soon as I notice that it's autocompleting, there's a 50/50 chance that the browser will do a search for what I've typed rather than go to the autocompleted URL. Chrome and Opera 12 get this right.

Autocomplete on the whole is about half broken. It has (what feels like to me) a huge lag built in, which lag reasserts itself after each letter typed. Further, it gives no priority to prior favored autocompletes or to frequency of page visit. I can type a SINGLE letter for most browsers in the address field, and press "enter," and be taken to the page I go to most often that starts with that letter. If I pause momentarily to look at autocomplete results for that letter, the page I was is always at the top of the list.
So autocomplete needs to be faster, it needs to favor prior typed destinations, or (ideally) a person should be able to SET whether it favors prior typed destinations, bookmarks, or most-visited destinations.

I mean if it is already loaded
Though I guess one could reload then go somewhere else
But a built in way to pause a tab, especially without reloading at all, would be nice -
What about a menu that shows all pages on the site, in parental order
-
How about a History page more like Opera's than Chrome's, it's much faster to delete some but not all history
also the "incognito mode" popup? -
Love the way Vivaldi is heading! My wish list so far:
-The ability to collapse a tab stack again after expanding it, like in Opera 12.
-The ability to name speed dial pages (so we see the name instead of the URL), and the ability to adjust their sizes. I like being able to fit them all on one page.
on tabs (I'd rather close tabs by middle clicking, so I don't accidentally close them by clicking the [X] when trying to select them)
-The ability to customize the buttons next to the nav bar like in Opera 12 (with an option for a recently-closed-tabs button)
-Private tabs
-An option to turn off "remember passwords"
-A Windows Phone version -
Collect tabs to stack = Collapse Tab Stack

Open link in a new background tab.
When right clicking on a link and opening it in a new tab, i wish there is an option to replace the "Open in new tab" action to open the new tab without switching to it directly.

For the mac version, could you use the two finger page swiping.
When can u make it so i can drag a new tab to make a new window.
Custom ThemesThanks

Yes! I finally found a modern browser who could make me happy again! Thank you so much! As for now, I'm still stuck whit Opera 12…
I like the colorful tabs. Is there a way (meta tag) for a website to set the color used?
Also I would like to be able to set the color for some domains. Example: I like to set all *.local domains to have a red tab. So I easy see which tap contains the development and which the production system of the same site. -
Hello,
If you:
- start Vivaldi 1.0.118.19 - Technical Preview 2 (x64)
- visit any website like https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl
then browser tab's title changes to "Google" while browser window's name seen by Windows 7 task manager stays "Vivaldi".
So my feature request is to display current active browser's tab's name in the window's title seen by task manager.
I'm requesting this because KeePass auto-type functionality does not work with Vivaldi currently because of the issue I described above.

- No way to access Chrome extension settings or list all extensions that have been installed
vivaldi://chrome/extensions
- Add Panel placement: OFF to the settings menu. While useful, not everyone wants to use the panel at all. I never used nor liked it.
press F4 OR go "Vivaldi menu -> view -> show panel"

I wish an option to change the size of the speed dial thumbnails. They are too big.

Hello all.
I was long time Opera user… Since version 4.0. After Presto is abandoned, I moved to Chrome and I quite used on it...I have one suggestion and two question/conclusion?
1. Beside of loading page progress being in address bar we should be able to put it to status bar. Like old Opera "popup at bottom".
Like this:
2. I love the Panel toggle on the left side like in old Opera but that line should be much much thinner.
3. New email client should be able to impor mail from Opera M2.Regards from Bosnia :).

No more FREAK vulnerability for OSX
Customize speed dial bg
Optional feature similar to an experimental one from google, which showed the root domain in the url bar, however, the url should not be hidden (or be optional).
Possibly have a warning if the url contains any important site name (bank, bankofamerica, etc) but has a different root domain -
I find it annoying trying to resize the window - if the non-teb section of the tab bar was draggable, it would be easier.
I'm used to Chrome - so when full screen I like being able to select a tab by clicking right at the top of the screen - in Viv, there's a thin top bar selector for window moving - so window moving is more important than switching tabs? I didnt' think that was a priority for the team (see 1st point) - maybe the edges of tabs could be more rounded, and top bar clicking could do both selecting tabs and dragging the window ~
Can I forward my @vivaldi email address somewhere else or access via POP/IMAP?
Will Vivaldi accounts expire after some time? Will we need to log in after x amount of months?
