(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests

I'd like to see the option for the Developer Tool to be docked to the viewport (both in the lower half, and on a side). Also, the device view that can be found in the new Opera's developer tool is very useful.

1. When in a Speed Dial folder, we should be able to go to the upper folder by pressing the "escape" key. trying to press the "Up" button takes time and since it's a small button, it gets kinda hard.
2. Adding a new speed dial shows a section at the bottom of the page :
2.1. the close button of the section should be bigger.
2.2. we should be able to close it by pressing the "escape" key.
2.3. its design should be changed to something that gets your attention and is in the middle of the page. something like the approach used in ChrOpera (it shows a new Dialog fade in the page)3. the overall design of the buttons size should be refurbished since some of the buttons are really small and on High Definition displays they become even smaller.
4. We should be able to import Google Contacts (or other mail systems) by providing a UserName/Password for our account. but since the email client is in the works, you could make it that whenever it connects to the server, it'd ask for the contacts.
5. just pointing out again : the color transitions and some animations are not smooth… for example open a new tab and pay attention to its color changing. the color changes in some steps and the steps are not enough for the user to perceive them smooth (it's laggy)... this happens in some other transitional effects too.
6. When dragging a tab, if the mouse cursor moves out of the address bar (while still holding the mouse left button) the tab stops moving and it gets stuck wherever it was when the mouse cursor was inside the address bar. moving the tabs should be as smooth and easy as it was with Opera 12.x

Night mode in the browser
I saw the browser night mode feature in an android based browser (CM browser), it automatically detects (perhaps based on time) the night time and asks you to switch to night mode in which the colors are transformed to night colors and appear easy on eyes. Something like

Browser:
1. Optimize system memory usage. This browser takes up too much memory
2. Optimize overall browser. This browser takes too long to load/launch (min 15 sec, max 1 minute), especially the speed dial
3. Optimize browser cache. Every time I close and open this browser, all the tabs that I left off from before are still there. This is a huge privacy issue.
4. Add theme manager feature (instead of add-ons, and you said you don't want add-ons… well, atleast give the users the ability to change how the browser looks) that lets you connect to other Vivaldi users, create themes, or download themes created by others. (This includes changes to icons, tabs, looks, aesthetics, colors, backgrounds and whatnot)Download Section:
1. Add "File Grabber" feature, grabbing links from files/videos and downloading them as you desire
2. Add "Download video format as..." that allows you to download videos in a specified format (.avi, .wmv, .mp4, etc.)
3. Add "Download file by segment" option that increases the file downloading speed by separating the file into different parts and downloading all of them at the same time, and combining all of the parts after the file downloads.
4. Add torrent integration. (Using magnet torrent links does not work in this browser) -
Feature request:
Auto-group tabs of the same domain URL. Something like yandex.Next browser does.. but better (has some issues)(You can do it better!!)- So when I focus on some "grouped tab" should expand it showing me all "grouped tabs"
- When I click on X on a "group" should close the "front" (maybe last) tab of that group not the WHOLE group
- Screenshots (tooltips) on hover are nice, but when I "wheel click" on the screenshot, should close that tab
PS: I work with a lot of tabs at the same time (20+)

I would like to see a new function, which actually no browser supports:
Add the possibility to underline or to print parts of an article in bold and save the data locally.
So f.e. You can find important parts of a long article much faster!
I think it would be a good extension of the note feature!Good work so far!

- One any form data has been filled, it cannot be deleted. This gets especially irritating while filling captcha.
- There's no "undo close tab" option. CTRL + Shift + T also doesn't work (plz plz plz add this).
- When we copy the URL of an opened page, the suffix http:// isn't added automatically. Pasted links become 404.
- When we find a word on page, if it is found, let's say, 10 times, hitting return key again and again (for going to the next place where that word is) doesn't work.

I'd like to see the Vivaldy as the the best browser for art and photographers. Please, add the possibility to customize/change "on-the-fly" the background color of the window(s)/tabs, because the most preferred background colors for viewing photos - black, dark grey and etc.

I've found a few things that would be nice:
-Choosing which panels to have on the panelbar
-If the status bar is disabled, make it entirely invisible, right now it is still about 3 pixels high.
-Make the entire top of the chrome change colour, rather than just the tab and address bar. -
One feature that was nice to have is the old Opera text to voice option.
Granted, I didn't use it very much, and haven't felt the need to use it since Opera removed it, but it was another nice little touch that Opera used to have.

I'm missing a lot of things from old opera…but these are most important for me...
Bring back Dragonfly please
And also there is no point moving tabs down if address bar stays at top.
It will also be useful to have quick bookmarks bar close to address bar as it was in old opera.

Adblock. First of all.
Visited a few sites without it after downloading vivaldi, and it was one of the scariest experiences I've had for a long time… o.0
jk ;p
I can however not go back to a web-experience with ads, so once full support for adblock and anti-adblock is implemented I'll give vivaldi another chance.Addons in general, noscript, flashblock as well as lastpass, xmarks and stuff like that needs to be there.
Looking ok from what little time i used it.

Account transfer
Can't find how to search in prev posts about this, but it should be a nice feature to sync passwords and other data from google account etc. I decided to come form chrome to vivaldi but cant do tihs because of all saved data on google acc.
p.s. Add to site search "searching in topic"

Working on three different computers, Opera Link has become indespensable for me.
Web-sync of bookmarks, search engines, speed dial, passwords and notes in Vivaldi would mean a lot!
Plus, can I please have what Opera Link is lacking, synchronization of the feed list between devices ?I also wish for a CalDav calender in the sidebar. Vivaldi is aiming to be a wholesome websuite. It would make browsing even more fluent, if I didn't have to open a separate calender application to check on dates when I'm booking flights or concert tickets or organizing a night out with friends.
That said, I love Vivaldi so far. Browsing through the forums, I'm sympathetic with the developers who must be totally overwhelmed with the number of bugs people detect and requests they ask. Keep it up!

FYI, you can install the chrome extension for adblock. It doesn't (yet?) appear in the UI other than under about:extensions, but it works fine. Same for a few other extensions like ghostery.

Sorry if already mentioned, lots of pages now!
Just downloaded a file and in the downloads panel I was unable to right click and choose 'open download folder' to go and find the file I downloaded to attach to an email. I didn't want to just open it.
Please add this
Also smaller bookmark font would be nice, quite chunky at the moment and never had to scroll with Opera 12 but do now.

For long page loading times:
Add Minesweeper (an old, forgotten, brain burning minigame) to the sidebar, with Cookie-Mines!
Also let us configurate the sidebar (so you can remove the cookiesweeper-button)Maybe it would be nice to have two tab bars instead of one if it is desirable.
