Opening related tabs next to each other is definitely a priority on my list. Currently, opening a link in a new tab opens it as the last tab. So, there's a bit of inconvenience.

Thanks Tiamarth, the UI Customisation thread has some good info, I might have a go at custom theme when I have more free time, however the more I think about it the less I like the coloured tabs anyway as they blur the line between what is part of the browser and what is part of the webpage. There already exists two methods of identifying the wanted tab by colour: the favicon and the thumbnail and since several colours in the tab UI are used for special features (e.g. the green for secure sites) additional colours don't do anything other than look cool.

Ah, sorry. No idea how I missed that in your post. But, in my defence, I do believe I apologized in advance for that post because I had typed it shortly after waking up :lol:
Anyway, even though we've both acknowledged it was possible to make Opera's User Mode behave like a reading mode, I don't know that I'd be willing to give Opera the credit of being the first browser to implement reading mode. Because, by default, it's not a reading mode.
I've replied to the new thread and so have a couple other people.
No worries. I agree with you, I don't use the coloured tabs unless I'm showing off Vivaldi to someone new. I tend to prefer the default theme without page colours and some minor custom modifications to the layout of the GUI.

I like more and more Vivaldi browser, if just the tab stacking was the same as in Opera 12, because the present one is not convenient or practical for me. I am still using O 12 precisely because I have a dozen ore more pages open and it is all stacked in few groups, so when you want to work with one group you “open” it and when you finish with it just “close” it and move on to the next one.
The advantage of this solution is that you have ability to see titles of all the cards in the open group, so I have a better orientation. in contrast, the current solution in Vivaldi forces continually check what is on the each card in the group (can't see all tabs titles at once) …
I hope for restoration of work on 2 or more tabs side by side in one window.

It's already here http://i.imgur.com/ndRUUmC.png. Just select more than one tab (with shift or ctrl) and right click on it. The option should be there.

Thanks for info, but what about resizing of viewed tabs ?
With this I could move almost immediately from O12 to Vivaldi.
Now i just miss Opera 12 tab stacking - I mean winding and unwinding of a group of tabs and bookmarks with sorting by folders/links a-z (it doesn't work properly jet). -
I'd want a css inspector. It would make making css customizations much easier.

1. Option to change tab switching behavior when closing a tab.
Current behavior: When closing a tab it goes back to the last active tab.Suggested OPTIONAL behavior: When closing a tab it goes to the next tab to the right, if no tab exists then it goes to the next tab to the left. (For example if you already have a few tabs open and you then open several new tabs of articles etc then you want to read one and close it to then read the other, but with the current behavior when you close the article then it goes to last active tab and you have to manually switch to the next tab and then rinse repeat for all tabs… So.. yeah, it would be more logical for my usage, but perhaps not for others which is why it should be optional.
Edit: Additional Suggested OPTIONAL behavior: Another behavior could be to go to in whatever direction you are, so for example lets say you have a few tabs open and then manually go from right to left and then close a tab then it would close the tab and open the next tab to the left, if you manually went from left to right and then close a tab then it should close that tab and open the next tab to the right.
2. When you're at a tab and then hold shift and press another tab then all tabs in-between should also be selected, not just the two tabs. (To make it easier to select many tabs at once, current behavior should be moved to AltGr.
3. Add "Open in new tab stack" to the list when right-clicking folders in Bookmarks.

I would like to be able to set escape [ESC] as "Focus Page" keyboard shortcut. This would greatly enhance a vim-like layout.
And keybindings for scrolling half a page up and down would be nice.

Vivaldi Feature Request
Hotkey for the tile vertically feature. When tabs are selected you only need to press hotkey, no need to move cursor to the small button and navigate to the "tile vertically" icon.

I'd want a css inspector. It would make making css customizations much easier.
You can do this by launching Vivaldi with the command
--remote-debugging-port=XXXXWhere "XXXX" is whatever port number you want to use. Then type localhost:XXXX in your address bar and find the page that ends with "browser.html" From there, you can inspect all the UI elements.

I would love to see an option to remove private data older than a given lengths of time. I'm more likely to want to keep the last week than all the weeks leading up to it, which you can currently do.

I'm not gonna look through most of the forum to see if similar features have been requested, so I'm gonna suggest them anyway. I use Waterfox (a 64 bit port of Firefox) and I have these two addons that I would like to see similar features implemented.

Beyond Australis - This opens the address bar (and any bars under it) when hovering over the tab/title bar. That's all it does, but I like it. Opens up more space in the window.Just curious if these could be implemented as actual features, or if someone wanted to make Vivaldi compatible addons doing these.

You can already tile tabs. If you can't find any of the things I'm about to mention, it's probably because you're running an older version. So, to get that out of the way right now, the most recent version of Vivaldi is 1.0.279.3 as of this post.
Select multiple open tabs by holding shift and clicking them, then right click and select "Tile Selection."
Group multiple tabs either by dragging them on top of each other or by selecting them, right clicking, and choosing "New Tab Stack with Selection." Then tile them with the Page Tiling menu in the status bar:[attachment=1759]Screenshotfrom2015-09-1912:37:03.png[/attachment]
You can also already toggle the UI - but with hotkeys, they don't autohide. ctrl+F11 is the default hotkey to enter no UI mode, which is essentially fullscreen without being fullscreen. For a list of things you can toggle, open quick commands by pressing F2 and then search for "Toggle." This should also show you all of the default hotkeys for those functions. You can change hotkeys by going to Vivaldi settings > Keyboard.

does look very good and promising,love new tab page however it needs to work with chrome addons such as adblockplus and should have flash built in as well as the ability to side load and install addons from chrome webstore. what about being ablt to sync with other browsers for example sign in with google to sync with chrome or firefox sync to sync with firefox.
know its early and they will take time to develop but would be cool:cheer:

2 simple usability features:
- focus search field when opening settings
- add a hot key to open trash bin popup

I just want a solid browser with good dev tools that doesn't treat me like an idiot or a dollar sign.
I want options, LOTS of options.
I don't want Browser Sync crap. I will NEVER log into a browser, the very idea is moronic to me and feels like a cheap grab to make money. I have no idea how you'd make money off of it, but because Chrome and Opera won't let you remove this creepy "give us your data" feature, I have to assume it's money related.
I don't want that. I want options. If you want to give the option to sync up your personal data from your computer to some browser company's server, that's fine, so long as I can opt out and remove any reference to that shit.
I want complete control over the UI. I want to be able to remove absolutely every default element it comes with, no exceptions.
I want options. Lots of options.

Got a question - does it speed up loading of web page ?! No.
Does it help in downloading files ?! No.
And so on …
Totally useless.There is a lot more of useful FUNCTIONS that we need e.g :
- page fitting to width of window.
- blacklist websites and ad blocker (touch now we can get Adblock plugin from chrome)
- bookmarks on context menu like in old opera 12 (File Edit View Bookmarks Tools Help)
- allow for more columns (9-12) in speed dial (we got wide screens), edit (change address) and resize items
