(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests
-
I would like a Bookmarks button I can add to the Menu Bar.
I tried adding βbookmark-menu to the command line which supposedly works in Chrome, but it didn't do anything.

At first I would like to thank you for feature of closing tabs from left and from right! That was my feature request and I am very glad, that now I can use browser without any addtional extensions. Vivaldi is one of the most powerful browsers at the moment.
I would like just to offer you another feature request for SpeedDial.
Right now it creates images for links automatically (basing on page itself). Still, it not working correctly for several webistes, for example, Chrome Extensions Center:
Please, add feature to SET your own image, which is saved somewhere at your computer. For example, I created images myself specially for sites, I am using pretty often (for example, size of 640x480) and just would like to set link image as it.
That would be pretty awesome and cool feature!
Thank you!

1. The cookies are currently shared between all the private browsing windows - I would like to have a switch separating cookies across different private windows. Unless this is already implemented somehow, I didn't find such feature though.
2. Ability to move a tab to a separate window just by dragging it out of the current window's area.
3. When the tab thumbnail feature is off, resizing the tab bar should spread the tabs across multiple rows instead of simply turning the aforementioned feature back on again.
4. This is a personal thing, I don't know if many people keep their tab bars as cluttered as mine is, but, when switching tabs, I sometimes accidentally click on the "mute" button that takes up one third of the tab's clickable area. Individual tab muting is a great feature but maybe it could be moved to the context menu?
5. Probably already mentioned a thousand times, but still: SYNC, SYNC, SYNC!
I never thought I would need this until I found a browser I really feel like customizing and using to its fullest potential. Vivaldi is the one and I would love to see a sync feature, or at least an ability to export ALL the settings to a single file. I know there are some ways to automate things but after using Chrome I became extremely lazy and I want this process to be effortless.Sorry if some of these features are already there and I just failed to find them. Keep up the good work, I love Vivaldi. Regards!

Ability to re-order Web Panels. Right now my web panels show in the order they were created. I would like to be able to change the order.

Add feature for Enable/Disable remember text entered in input fields/forms. "DoNotRememeberWhatIWritingEverywhere"-feature!

Hello! I'd like to make a small feature request. Is this the right place? I'd like to be able to click on the "back" button with the mouse wheel, to open the last visited page in a new tab! This is working (exclusively?) in Firefox and I miss it very much while working with other browsers.
-
The biggest drawback to me is the Vivaldi browser is not touch screen capable.
Please consider making that workable in the next release.
Also, there are several Chrome extensions (such as VideoStream) that do not work on Vivaldi.

Another "vote" - if it is such a thing - for the ability to scale/zoom the speed dial page, please. You can zoom in and out on Chrome's apps page. I would like quite a few speed dials to choose from without having to scroll, and the thumbnails don't need to be as big as they are imho.
Vivaldi 1.0 on Linux.

@erik.red:
Ttool to save tabs layout (stacked and pinned locations as well)
Try using sessions. I was able to save two tiled tabs as a session.

Move Trash button to the address bar / addons place

Any chance for FIDO/U2F protocol implementation on future Vivaldi?
That would be great!I second this request. Even Firefox has a working extension that supports this important authentication feature. For Vivaldi to not have it would be a grave mistake.
I just tried today and I can confirm that Vivaldi 1.0.403.24 (Beta 3) beta (64-bit) already supports U2F using my Yubico Security Key!
It's not working for me on 1.0.435.42 (64-bit), under Ubuntu Gnome. It also did not work on my Windows PC, though I can't check the version on that at the moment (should be similarly recent). It fails both on Google authentication pages and on the YubiKey test page. There's no indication that anything happened at all, no error, no confirmation anything is being attempted, just stubborn inaction.

Move Trash button to the address bar / addons place
Why are you suggesting to move it there? People who use a lot of extensions may not like to have the trashcan fill one of those spaces. On the other hand, it should be possible to move all these things around. And we are working to a more flexible UI in that regard!

The one thing I'm really missing is the possibility to grab a tab, and drag it over to a 2nd monitor to have it run in it's own window. As I'm writing this I noticed it's possible to right click and choose "move to new window", but it would be nice to be able to just drag it to achieve the same.
We are working on expanding drag and drop in general. What you are asking for will be possible when we have gotten the drag and drop functionality to work the way we want it to. And you want it to for that matter!

One feature that would be nice would be the media grabbing feature available to Torch users.

Hi. I have 2 requests
1. Make it available to move open new tab button before any tabs.
2. Add new shorcut to make 3 things at once (open new tab + paste + go). We already have shortcut to paste and go. It would be good to open new tab before these actions.

I find a great web page, and you want to save my bookmarks.
Among the existing bookmarks I look for the appropriate category and open.
Now I press the + (Add) button in the top four are. (Add, Open, Delete, Edit)From the bottom to pop up an Address field that is EMPTY.
It would be very useful if it is picking up in the address field of the current URL.
But it would be best if the + button would automatically to the selected category to insert the current URL. (As legacy Opera)
It's quick, easy, convenient. -

Forms auto fill to be manually amendable like in Chrome
To add credit / debit card details for auto fill of fields for payment, like in Chrome. It's amazing to double click in the box and it come up with my 15 digit credit card number without me having to go get my card out of my purse out of my bag to then try to read the scratched numbers and type and recheck etc.

Ability to pull a tab out into another window or new window (like in Chrome)
Also
when "Stacking" tabs, visually it isn't obvious what the hell you're meant to do, and it took me a while to figure it out. Maybe if when you held it over another tab the tab didn't so easily move away from the tab your trying to put ontop of it? or if when you click and hold it over, it did some kind of gesture/animation to suggest if you let go it will combine? It's basically not that easy to do, or visually suggestive?

This is a very niche and rather complex proposal, so even if you like this idea don't get your hopes up.
I would like to suggest a column mode for text selection, manipulation within the browser.
This feature should allow the selection to either regular blocks of page text or follow the flow of the column-wise data. When following the flow, the selection would be collecting the data in a logical column, which represents the data relating to a specific field or fields even when there is an irregular presentation of the data due to varying lengths of data in preceding fields.
Also to allow the selection of whole column, everything from here to the start, from here to the end. Or even from regex pattern A to regex pattern B. Albeit, in that latter case just for fun, these two patterns may be specified to capture multiple columns, not necessarily contiguous either.
The columns being able to be defined as either html tables or by a pattern such as TAB or COMMA delimited (as a user specified value), with enclosures like "" (also user specified).
Then all that remains is to be able to sort, show only rows relating to distinct keys, count and count based on a regex pattern. These operations being able to be compounded on top of themselves or each other in reference to a data set and that action stored as a macro and or in relation to that web page or domain.
