Unable to turn off restricted mode on Youtube
-
When I am on Vivaldi, Youtube automatically turns on restricted mode giving me the message, "Turned on by your network administrator to help hide potentially mature videos." It's really annoying because restricted mode turns off comments on every video. I've talked to my dad to check if he turned it on and he said no. I've opened up Youtube in another browser and restricted mode is off. I've disabled my extensions as well, that did not fix the issue. This seems to be a unique problem, let me know if there are any solutions.

@kudoclasm I’m unsure whether there’s even a possibility to set a policy like this for the browser. If anything, you would have to do it on purpose. Which additional browser did you check it with and can you try it with Chrome?

@kudoclasm Could you provide a some more information?
Vivaldi version
Operating System
Did you configure a DNS service? Is Google DNS enabled in privacy settings? Have you changed any other google services?
Does it work in a guest window (click on profile button in top right)?
Does it work as expected in Chrome or Chromium?
Are you signed in to google?
Is the ad and tracker blocker on? Did you configure the blocklists/sources? -
@kudoclasm in your youtube account is the profile icon on top right, click on it, at bottom of dropdown menu should be a entry restricted mode where you can change.
sorry for german ui of yt. -
@doctorg I don’t think it is that, because it said it was turned on by net admin
