Feature parity with desktop?
-
I recently found out about the major upgrades to Vivaldi Desktop (Mail, Calendar, RSS Feeds) and a few minor ones. One thing that would really be incredibly awesome would be a feature parity between the Desktop and Android. Is that on the agenda? I'll assume, βYes.β So, if that is the case, when? I'd love to use just Vivaldi on my Android phone if it also had Mail, Calendar and RSS Feeds....

On Android you use separate applications for it.

I think full parity will never be reached due to differences in resources, usability, etc.
For instance, Mail stores all your messages locally. It's easy to find people with tens of thousands of email messages whose profiles take up a few GB because of this one feature alone - that would probably not fly well on a phone, which usually has a very limited storage.
Mail's user interface has several areas (folders, message list, message view). Trying to cram all of those into a tiny cell phone screen is not easy and would probably require the whole navigation to be redesigned. That being said, I'd love to be able to read on my phone the feeds I've imported to Vivaldi. But there are a lot of things to consider for this to be done "right". Like these: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/53420/sync-email-rss-calendar-configurations-and-seen-read-statuses?_=1624169988024

Yes, that would be particularly awesome, especially because it is impossible. The programs are very different in structure, and use programs that do not offer comparable resources. There can be parity between Windows, Linux, and Mac, because these platforms offer comparable (though not the same) resources. Android does not offer structure or resources that are even remotely comparable to desktop OSes. Vivaldi Desktop cannot be squeezed into the Vivaldi Android box. Sorry.

I'd be happy with some sort of parity on iOS.
-
@treego I think a lot of people would be happy with something/anything on iOS. Apple does everything they can to discourage that, but I think Vivaldi may yet get it done.

Thank you, @Ayespy !

@fabulousmythicalbird I know that. I was hoping for an all-in-one app.

@ayespy Thanks! I didn't expect feature parity to be soon; I was just looking to see if it was possible, and if so, when it may happen. If it is impossible for the reasons you state, oh, well. I'll just have to adapt.
