Accordion tab stacks, and silent updates for Windows – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2328.3

Since new Speed Dial design few versions ago, the opening animation is struggling on first click on any folder. After first lagged animation, furthermore opening/closing animation is smooth, even after restart of browser. Even on very strong CPU.
-
@code3 Oh nice! I hadn’t noticed, but yeah they do slide like they did before. Great that this is back.
But just like before, the animation stops working when there are too many tabs.

I have a bookmark on my bookmark bar:
vivaldi://restart
that no longer works. Enteringvivaldi://restart
in the URL field and pressing Enter still works as expected. The Nickname "r" also fails.
-
@pesala: Sorry for not being clear. This is an update, not a clean installation, plus I tried toggling them like 10 times before writing this, plus they were enabled before.
-
I really like the updated tab re-arranging. Moving tabs is a lot smoother now. And, results in a lot fewer instances of missing the target when moving tabs. In previous versions I found dragging tabs a long the tab bar to be very sensitive. It's so much better now.
-
Few weeks ago I wrote about that you need to move tab acros almost whole tab, to change position of tab. Have a look on video with comparison to Edge, how much you need to move cursor in Edge and in Vivaldi. Because Edge takes new tab position based on borders of existing tab, and Vivaldi based on mouse position.
And there is bug, that if I start dragging tab, but release it without changing position, tab became somehow unactive and it is possible to drag whole window from that tab. You need to move cursor away or switch to other tab, to be able drag tab again.

It was a killer Opera 11 featureWhy'd ya stop counting at 11? The venerable 12.16 [Nix] still had has it too of course.
Because 11.64 was the best and included the most features (unite, etc.). It already went downhill with 12.

So I upgraded to the last build a few days ago and then now this build. Problem is Vivaldi doesn't register mouse input 1px on the most left of the screen. So if my mouse is to the left edge and I use the scroll wheel to browse a page, it doesn't read it.
Also, is the mandatory popup asking if you want to leave a page still forced? Vivaldi browser was better months ago. I think you all are doing too much. I prefer optimizations and quality of life. I have enough features for now.

@vividal: First to reply. I beat everyone.

@guigirl Like the famous saying said... "Never go full OT... never !!!"
-
@ruarí: As long as it is in the plans, I am good. Thanks
-
@pesala: Yes. I have that option disabled on purpose. I want to left click a bookmark to open in the current tab and a middle click to open in a new tab, without having to move my hand to hold a button down.
Very annoying...hopefully they will fix it.

The accordion tabs look great. A little not-perfect when the tab bar is on left, but I bet next snapshot will be smooth.
Also, I still want to see the "chained commands" -
I really like the idea of accordion-style stacks as it's closer to Tree Tabs, but it doesn't work very well with vertical tabs yet so I'll hold off on using it until it's more polished for vertical use.

Do you remember that epic Opera 11 promo on YouTube? Can't find it now.

- Hope this latest stack paradigm won't unduly delay the inevitable-i-desperately-hope development of V's own TST.
Ohhh... so we have
