Again trouble with space above tabs
-
Since I'm using vivaldi there is a bug with maximized windows. It changes to a kind of pseudo max window after a while, having another icon (that for non-max windows) and - additionally - have space above the tabs (although a checked non-space).
I wrote about this in the German section. You can find a screenshot there too.
Since the latest update of vivaldi stable this bug isn't randomly appearing any more but instead ALWAYS when bringing another program to the forfront!
I will write a bug report on this, if anybody can confirm this.
At the moment I have this bug in Linux Mint. Later I will check my Win10 installation.EDIT:// Now the bug has disappeared. Seems to be a very unstable bug hiding when the user wrote a post on it.
I'll update this when necessary. -
I actually filed a bug about this issue a while ago: VB-70960
I suspect it's a problem with Vivaldi and the Cinnamon desktop environment. Vivaldi has always had issues with the maximized window for me.
At the time I filed the bug report (August 2020), I remember I tested on a live disk for of Linux Mint and it still had the issue. So it happened with a clean install of Vivaldi with no configuration or other software installed.
I also tried using Linux Mint with the MATE environment, and window maximization worked as expected.
The workaround is to minimize the browser window and then maximize it again (I use the window applet on the Cinnamon panel to minimize).

@ugly Thank you. So the bug is already filed. I hope somebody has an idea to fix it.
As Vivaldi is the only program with this issue at Cinnamon desktop the fix has to be done by Vivaldi programmers, right?
