Solved Not receiving emails
-
@gmg Thanks for the reply.
I've just got another update (4.3.2439.44 (Stable channel) (64-bit)), and I'm seeing this in the console:
Error: STORE_ERROR
at background-common-bundle.js:1
at async O (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async j (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async Object.getFirstBatch (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async t (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async H (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async Object.F [as checkForMail] (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async background-common-bundle.js:1
Then two different errors (almost the same thing). This one just now when I had the console open and manually did a check:(2) ['Unable to store POP message in mail store.', Array(1)]
0: "pop3.ntlworld.com / ********@ntlworld.com: Error Unable to store POP message in mail store."
1: ['**********@ntlworld.com']And the previous ones were this:
0: "pop3.ntlworld.com / ********@ntlworld.com: Error Unable to store POP message in mail store."
1: Array(1)
0: "**********@ntlworld.com"Expanding those gives a lot of other things that I can then expand.

@necronom
New snapshot with updated log isn't out yet. Will be the next version. Will hopefully be out soon. -
@gmg
I'm not sure if the one I now have is the one with the updated log, but I can't see any errors now.
I now have 4.3.2439.56 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
I go to vivaldi://inspect/#apps
Then click inspect under
Vivaldi chrome-extension://mpognobbkildjkofajifpdfhcoklimli/components/mail/mail.html
And I select 'console' at the top, and 'console' at the bottom, and see a blank window between. I'm sure that's where I used to see errors. -
@necronom said in Not receiving emails:
vivaldi://inspect/#apps
Did you also check the background page like it says here? (see vivaldi://inspect/#extensions)
https://help.vivaldi.com/mail/mail-advanced/troubleshooting-and-debugging-vivaldi-mail/Also are you still having issues?

@gmg
Yes, I haven't been able to receive an email in Vivaldi yet, apart from the ones I imported back in May.
Looking at that background page inspection I'm seeing the usual error:
"pop3.ntlworld.com / [email protected]: Error Unable to store POP message in mail store."Is it trying to store them in a place that doesn't exist?
Can I see where it's trying to store them?
Can I edit a config file to point to the correct place?
Is it a permission problem (I'm obviously an admin on my PC)?
Is there a particular part of the error screen you want me to look at in more detail?Here's the full un-expanded thing (the Array 2 part opens up into a lot of separate lines):
Error: STORE_ERROR
at background-common-bundle.js:1
at async O (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async j (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async Object.getFirstBatch (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async t (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async H (background-common-bundle.js:1)
at async F (background-common-bundle.js:1) Array(2) -
It looks like my mail folder is:
C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Mail\761e87
It has directories from 2003 to 2021 in there.
The mail account in Vivaldi is showing Imported Unknown Folder under Custom Folder and under my All Accounts | [email protected] account name.I ran the Rebuild Search Database.
I didn't do the re-index, as it sounds like I will lose most of my emails, which defeats the whole point in importing them from Opera Mail. I use POP3 and most of the old emails are not on the ntlworld server. They are local to my PC.

Hey @necronom, sorry for the late follow up. Do you receive emails to your account in Vivaldi Mail these days or are you still having issues?
-
No, it's never worked. I've been without a mail client for well over a year now and have been using webmail (which I don't like). I didn't dare start using Opera Mail again, as it would download all my emails to that and I'd lose all the work I put in to tidying up the imported mailbox when I initially tried to get Vivaldi to work. In hindsight I should have made sure it worked before I did anything else, but I assumed that it would work (especially for people like me who had been wanting Opera emails in Vivaldi for so long).

Hi @necronom - Do you have your raw mail files in a safe place? Do you have the account still set up in Vivaldi? We have now added ability to import individual mail files. You can find that in the Import dialog. You can also right-click on the destination folder in the mail panel and select the message file import from there. Can you try importing a couple of message files into your account?
-
Well, that was a surprise! I just re-enabled Mail (which I'd given up on a few months ago) and added my account. This time it worked! No daft extra folders that didn't make sense for the imported ones, and all the ones I'd imported last time were now in the Custom Folders. It downloaded over 3,000 emails, then I closed and re-opened Vivaldi and those custom ones were now in the Received folder, which is great.
So it looks like it's working now. Amazing!
The only thing I haven't got working is the sound when an email comes in. With Opera I had a sound sample that used to play, but I don't see an option for choosing one ans ticking the play sound box didn't do anything.
Thanks for the updates. One of them has clearly got round the problem I had

@necronom The audible mail notification is broken. It used to work, and will again.
