Solved Cannot click-drag tabs to move them to a new window
-
I don't know what else to report about that - even moving one tab outside of the window is impossible.
Moving between windows, however is fine - which gives the workaround to open a new window, drag the tabs in, and close the Start Tab.However ... if you do that too fast, then the window "reverts" to the rendering image (gray Vivaldi icon), and it's not operational anymore (you need to close and re-open it).
Vivaldi 3.8.2259.42 / Chrome 90.0.4430.214

What's funnier is, after I closed all windows (except the main one), click-drag-new_window started working.
I'd think that this had something to do with having multiple windows open, but I couldn't replicate the conditions so far.

@stdedos Try dragging the tab over the current webpage and then release, this should open a new window with that tab. As for moving tabs to other windows drag&drop should be fine, again, drag the tab over the webpage of the target window and release. Alternatively right‐click the tab and select “move tab/s,” which will move one or more tabs to an existing window of your choice.

@stdedos You should only have to drag the tab away from the Tab Bar. Some users found it too easy to do by mistake.
I made this short video to demonstrate:
- Moving Tabs
- Stacking Tabs
- Unstacking Tabs
- Detaching Tabs
- Moving Tabs back to the previous window

I am doing that and it does not work.
The tab keeps going back to where it was. -
(PS: I'd be nice if the error message for files >1MB would be more explanatory than "Error: error" :-p)

@stdedos What sort of system is that on? Do you use any extensions?

Win 10 1803, and, as you can see, it's in Guest user - i.e. no extensions

@stdedos Are you really on 1804, not 19042? Vivaldi had to make some changes to be compatible with Windows 20H2 (19042.1052)

As I said, I am on 1803 (not 1804) - and, yes, that probably means not 19042 (I am on 17134.1792).
And yes - I am sorry I hate spyware, bloated Windows Updates and I am making the least effort possible to keep up with any Windows update.

The problem seems to be performance issues.
On an older machine, it seems to require "a lot more" time for that to happen - far away from the "too easy to do by mistake".
