Improved onboarding / Mail, Calendar and RSS move towards a Beta release – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2312.3

@folgore101: okay, I guess that'll be behind some setting in the future
in the meantime, can you tell me which files to remove to completely reset my mail and RSS settings? after wiping everything I found in the OG thread it launched empty but then logged into my mail and started loading the same feeds I had before, one after another appearing on the listand it seems I'm still stuck with some sources that can't be removed from UI for whatever reason

Translation spam is getting back despite being disabled in previous builds
Unticking "Offer to translate pages" in translation settings do nothing.
What is another (third) way to get rid of it?
-
@zakius I don't know how to reset just those settings, for Feed i think just delete them all.
If instead you want to reset all of Vivaldi follow these directions: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/install-update/full-reset-of-vivaldi/

Tried auto update from 3.9.2305.3, looks like this crash on first start up attempt. Tried a manual start, it started fine (looks like the auto update tried to skip macOS Gate Keeper checks and macOS killed it, when I manual started I saw the Gate Keeper check run).
Is the Known Issues for the auto update checker?
For newer version of macOS could the OS media player be used for H.265 (HEVC)? -
@folgore101 before it was possible to just delete RSS and Mail files and it was reset, but now it somehow regenerates. And removing feeds is impossible due to bugs
-
@zakius What bug with the feeds? I just tried it and i can add and remove them with no problem.

I hope there's more RSS fixes as it was so broken I was simply unable to put it into words
Well RSS works here. So I think you will need to put it into words or it is unlikely to be fixed, since I am not sure what you are referring to.

Yes, which is why it states "Crash on checking for updates"
-
@ruarí importing feeds with slashes in name made the reader think it's in directory, removing feed made all others clone all articles, over and over again, few times the extension crashed
and now I can't figure out how to nuke feeds without resetting whole profile, launching Vivaldi makes everything re-appear@folgore101 said in Improved onboarding / Mail, Calendar and RSS move towards a Beta release – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2312.3:

I removed few feeds but then clicking on the confirm button in settings did nothing, modal stayed open, doing the same on RSS panel seems to do nothing but after refreshing articles from "deleted" feed are gone, but the feed stays, might have something to do with colon in the name -
Undocked dev tools still broken. Unable to change viewport presets. Dropdown menu appears far from where I clicked.

Two comments about the new onboarding feature (which I find very, very good!)
-
if you choose the essential option without panels, the first time you download sth, boom there they are and users won't know what hit them
-
after setting up the first mail account, the background fades away and the first tips and tricky you see is: the keyboard shortcuts. Folks, explain how the mail client works first. The shortcuts are important, but they are the last thing you show.

okay, besides removing all these files you have to dig into Preferences
but now it seems there's no way to import OPML anymore, old article stated to rename it to xml but it now just displays text, the same happens with opml extension, I'm getting confused

I am an German Guy
How can i completly disable Webpage translation in Version 4.0 Snapshot Desktop
I dont need this Feature and i will completly disable itPls help me step for step
In Snapshot 3.9 its off in Version 4.0 on -
@lotzi Settings, General, and disable:
Automatically offer to translate pages. -
This doesnt work it doesnt save my change
-
Blur effect doesn't work anymore despite having it enabled (VB-80035).
Works just fine on stable right now. I hope this is fixed before 4.0 releases, this blur effect was a flagship feature of 3.8 after all (it would be pretty silly if it didn't work anymore in the next major release).

Yes, i confirm, it's not working.

@folgore101 I tried a clean profile and it I still have the same problem.
I did find however that the blur effect works when panels are not set to float. Otherwise, the blur effect is completely missing.

the point is I couldn't delete feeds due to bugs and now you have to dive into preferences to remove feeds successfully, removing mail related files and M3 storage isn't enough
-
@altcode It's a known issue already reported.
