3.7.2218.55 Issue on autotrader.ca
-
I have just upgraded to 3.7.2218.55
Ok - so when I go to search for a car in www.autotrader.ca , I have to enter some details, car make ( Acura), model(TLX), postcode (T3Z3L9). And I am refused entry into the site. However, if I do the same on Google Chrome, MS Edge or FireFox I have no problem. Error message. This can't have anything to do with the IP address since the other browsers have no problem. The error is reported by Incapsula.

@vincej1 It's a bug in autotrader.ca security rules. The site identifies Vivaldi as an insecure browser.
-
@Ayespy Interesting. I have used Autotrader before with previous versions of Vivaldi with no problems. This problem has only just now shown up since I upgraded today . And yet, it identifies the other browsers as secure, but this has nothing to do with the brand new Vivaldi version. Ok, I won't pretend to follow - nevertheless thanks for that. Is it not worth passing into the development teams?
-
@vincej1 This kind of thing happens with nearly every Vivaldi update. Some security app or another decides the "old" Vivaldi was ok, but the "new" Vivaldi isn't. Security apps don't whiteliest Vivaldi like they do Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc. They should, but they don't even know Vivaldi exists.
-
@Ayespy OK, So, in your experience, will Vivaldi get white listed again by Incapsula like the old version?
-
@vincej1 I couldn't predict that. If you contact the site owner, then there's a better chance.
I'll tell you a weird thing that happened here. There was an outage at my ISP and it caused a change in my IP when it came back up. Suddenly, I could not access a government website I use all the time. Chrome could not access it either, nor Firefox. The only browser I could get in with was Edge. Then several days later, my ISP had an even longer outage, and my IP changed again. Suddenly, Vivaldi and all my other browsers could access the government website again. Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to these security access rules.
