@Catweazle Ok, I am replacing it with Raspberry Pi then! :face_savouring_delicious_food:

Better, but not necesary with a new TV.

@Catweazle … You are using a browser engine developed by Google and since you are posting in the Android feature request section, I have to assume you are using an operating system developed by Google. Using Chromecast won’t exactly betray your ideals, lol.

@luetage , I use a variation that is based on an OpenSource version of a Google product, on a Google OS, but that allows to avoid Google to a large extent and where I can use non-Google apps.
Others use products paid for by Google and controlled by the US secret service, believing themselves more private.Unfortunately today you cannot avoid Google 100%, but you can do without it by 90%.
Anyway, I feel more comfortable with an OS where I can interfere with apps that I know and where I can largely disable the "services" that I dislike. This possibility I have in Android, but not WebOS, where I swallow Google, yes or yes and where I can't even delete the data and cookies, having to wait for the OS to do it when it feels like doing it.
There is no privacy tool, plug-in or extension in WebOS and nothing that can influence it in any way. Crap.
Android is the only other alternative on TVs, there is no other, and respect to the other the lesser evil. -
