      Hello fellow users of Vivaldi,

In order to use the function Scan to Email of my Epson WF-C5710, I get this error:

      The connection is untrusted.
      Check the following.
      -CA Certificate

I followed both the User and Network Manuals of my Epson Printer, and according to the Network, I should create a CSR and send it to you, Vivaldi, in order to receive an usable CA Certificate. But that seem a bit cumbersome, because I think I am not the only one that is trying to set up this function Scan to Email on an Epson.

Because I am getting this error for quite some time now, I decided to rest my Epson once more, updating both the firmware and root certificate. After that I tried to set up the function Scan to Email once more, but I still get this error.

According to the software of Epson, both the firmware (CU04KC) and Root certificate (02.02) are up to date...

Even after trying two other email providers, I have tried to set this function up with my Vivaldi, Outlook and Disroot account, but still getting this error of untrusted certificate.

One from Disroot suggested to ask this at Let's Encrypte, which I did here: https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/certificates-for-my-epson-wf-c-5710/147765

I also contacted the Tech support of Epson, but I am stilling waiting for a response. I will keep you posted...

Hopefully we can sort this error out...

I got a message back from the Tech Support of Epson:

        Thank you for your email

You are correct that is exactly what you should be doing.

        Here you find more information

        https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd56275/source/administrator_guides/source/web_config/tasks/sct3170_5470/obtaining_importing_certificate_sct3170_5470.html

If you do not want to do this you can try epsonconnect.com and use that to scan to email

        That is very helpful #Sarcasm

Thus Vivaldi, how can I request a CA certificate?

I just learned that all what I am trying to set up with my printer is a simple Mail User Agent (MUA) on my Epson, but due to untrusted certificates...

I have asked the very same question to the company where I have bought my Epson printer less than two years ago, and they are happy to sort these things out for me. Thus there is still some good tech support in this world, sadly not from Epson.

When I have to buy a new one, not Epson, I really prefer one with a good support and works good or even great with Linux.

Hum, something went wrong in translation.

In any case I have to buy a new printer, even when this issue is fixed, but after several years it becomes non-repairable, than I prefer one with good tech support and compatibility with Linux.

But I truly hope that the tech support of the company where I bought this printer can sort things out for me. Thus I will put my printer into a big, and have it send to that tech support...

I do not really talk fluent english and i could have misinterpreted something.

                Das ist kein Probleem

Sorry, to busy to react, but here is an update: After some research, the company took the printer back and gave money back. I bought a different printer of another brand from another company.
