Reload page using mouse button
-
Hi,
on my mouse, besides a back and forward button, I also have a third button that I use in Chrome and Firefox to reload the page. It would be great if I could do the same in Vivaldi.
I've already tried setting it up on the mouse gestures or keyboard shortcuts settings (where my mouse button is only recognized as 'undefined').

@develerik If you use it a lot a mouse gesture will work fine: just GestureUp, GestureDown (or whatever).
You could also add the command to your page context menu in Settings, Appearance, Menu Customization.

@develerik Can you set up the button to send other keypresses? You would need to set this up in your mouse manufacturer's mouse utility.
The default keyboard shortcuts for refreshing a page, on Windows at least, are
Ctrl
+R
andF5
. Having the mouse send one of those instead might work better and continue to work in other browsers. -
@nomadic Good point, I will try it
edit:
it did work I just created a ~/.xbindkeysrc file with this contents:"xvkbd -xsendevent -text "\[F5]"" m:0x10 + c:181

@develerik Hi, Thanks for your feature request.
This looks like a duplicate of https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/25206/customize-mouse-buttons-to-activate-gestures Please vote & discuss at that thread, thank you.
You can use the forum search first to see if you can find similar requests. If that doesn't work, I've catalogued all the requests here.
Your xbindkeysrc may be useful to others, so I moved this topic to the customisation forum.
