@ybjrepnfr How do you know it's not Julia?
-
just thinking aloud here atm, have not yet adequately investigated to check viability.
kaos is now ten years old. over the years i've tested it several times in various virtual machines [which, learning from older posts in this thread from departed former long-gone ex people, can be conveniently referred to as vms, so i shall borrow that habit; oh yes, it seems that square rather than curved parentheses are also more convenient, needing one keypress less, so i might also borrow that habit too; i surely hope that departed person does not mind too much], but atm i've no remaining kaos vms. given flathub / flatpak has really captured the zeitgeist regarding containerised packaging, and given kaos does not use the aur but instead its own imo substandard equivalent, for non-kaos-repo packages, i wonder if kaos + flathub might make an interesting comparatively versatile system? i suspect another vm experiment might be in the wind... otoh, maybe it's not even possible to use flathub in kaos?
ofc, given vivaldi is not in the kaos repos, nor yet has flatpaks, it might be necessary to still use their !=aur.

@ybjrepnfr hi, long overdue cleanup, as it was beyond stupid talking to myself without the references and quotes.
-
@npro oh.
i hope the despicable person/s who caused that problem to arise is/are feeling appropriately shamed & guilty.
shirley.
-
@ybjrepnfr yeah don't know about that, it is a long story. Fortunately you 've joined at a good time where everything is good.
-
@npro ...especially forum db reliability & uptime.

@ybjrepnfr V forum never lets you down.

well it could theoretically as they have less bloat by excluding 32-bit libraries and GTK, and afterall... it's Linux, anything can work given time and dedication. But I don't see the point as containerized solutions are bloat by definition imo. All these attempts are basically Frankensteiny.
But as this used to be an Arch-related thread, and you are already reading a biased opinion because of that, you could make a new thread about it to hear others' opinions.

@npro still finding my way here. so many new practices and conventions to learn.
...ponders to self how close to end-of-life now this meme might be...

notice:
systemctl soft-reboot
of systemd 254 (landed on Arch yesterday) is pretty cool.(too bad no one is around here anymore...)

i've now read

but atm i still can't quite understand what will happen once i use
systemctl soft-reboot
in konsole. atm it's not convenient to try it, but maybe later tonight before bed i might try it... -
Attention fellow arching-vivaldifarians!
I have just updated the most arch vivaldi script/package: `vivaldi-autoinject-custom-js-ui` which is available on both GitHub and the AUR .
- https://github.com/budlabs/vivaldi-autoinject-custom-js-ui
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vivaldi-autoinject-custom-js-ui
When installed from the AUR a pacman hookfile will be installed as well, that automatically execute the script when vivaldi is updated.
Oh and the script is kind of a manager for custom javascript mods, so you don't need to think about manually editing the `window.html` file.
Have a great day btw!

@DoctorG Aha!
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack noobs on fire off the shoulder of Opera. I watched Mods glitter in the dark near the Vivaldi Forum. All those moments will be lost in time, like tst in rain. Time to die.
