Use a custom .ICO file as a custom icon for Vivaldi in the taskbar and menu button...
-
Please add an option to use a custom .ICO file as a custom icon for Vivaldi in the taskbar and menu button, with the option to use a different custom .ICO file for private window. Users can find many free .ICO files online, or easily create their own with any image using a program like icofx.
NOTE: I know it has already been requested to let us use our profile icon for this, but I don't use profiles, and I prefer to use a different custom icon for Vivaldi in the taskbar and menu button via a custom .ICO file.

I would suggest to make is an option in setting / per-userprofile , so that the same installation of Vivaldi with several profiles could use a separate custom icon for each profile

I have 4 installations, and in all 4 the icons are changed with a script that uses resource hacker to modify the EXE.
Bringing this feature to life would make it possible to have just one Vivaldi, with (in my case) 4 profile folders having own taskbar icons and being isolated from each other.
That would be just fantastic. -

Unfortunately the developers have decided to mark this as "Will not do" for the moment. This is because the upstream chromium code would be needed to allow the application to dynamically change the icon and at the moment the developers do not have the resources to work on this.
If you want, you could make a request to the chromium project for this feature.
