⌘ E, what is it?
-
I'm new to Vivaldi, and not a keyboard person. Please explain to me what this keyboard entry is, which characters. I'm trying to access the quick commands.
-
@askodude ⌘ is the command key on Mac OS computers.
I see you posted in the Windows forum, where did you see the ⌘ symbol?
If you are looking at the help documentation, make sure you are looking in the Windows section.

The "clover" key serves a similar function on Macintosh computers as the Ctrl key does on Windows, and in most cases you can just use Ctrl with the same letter - as in, Ctrl-X is Cut, Ctrl-C is Copy, Ctrl-V is Paste, Ctrl-Z is Undo, etc.
-
The Apple-specific key often nowadays referred to as "clover" was, at least at one time if not presently, officially named the "Command" key. Command and Control are synonyms, so if you remember that, the difference becomes a lot easier to remember ^^

My familiarity with Macs is on the order of 30 years ago. I've seen "Command" on (pictures of) more recent Mac keyboards. I've also seen keyboards with both the "clover" and Control keys, though I believe that Control key worked as an old-fashioned Control key (as in, Control-M was Return, Control-J was Line Feed, Control-I was Bell, etc.) Yeah, long before OSX.

Thanks to all of you. I was looking for how to access the Quick Commands and somewhere on the Vivaldi site was mentioned F2/⌘ E. On further playing around I found that the only command that works on my HP Pavilion dv6, is fn F2. Thanks for all the info on the list of keyboard shortcuts with Ctrl+F1, the other Vivaldi links, and info on Macs and clover icon

@askodude No need to press
Fn F2
, Quick Commands should be accessed fast. Change the keyboard shortcut to access them invivaldi://settings/keyboard/
and set it to something that’s easy to reach. For example I enabled one key shortcuts and just press the letterO
