How to block websites in web panels?
-
I use a program called Cold Turkey to block certain websites and limit my Internet addiction. However, as of December (I apologize, I can't remember the exact date or update), I have been able to access blocked websites through the web panels. Is there a way to prevent this, to prevent blocked sites from opening as a web panel?
I'd really appreciate any help, especially with the college semester coming up soon

Potentially helpful information:Cold Turkey searches for blocked websites and applications using the hosts file, and clearing the hosts cache on vivaldi://net-internals/#dns does not help
Here are some past forums about hosts files which didn't help me but might help you help me https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/29706/hosts-file, https://github.com/wireapp/wire-webapp/issues/127

@roybrishav Welcome to the Vivaldi Community
I know very little about this Cold Turkey program, but if it blocks on the OS level or uses the
hosts
file, it should also block whatever is loaded in the panel. The only thing different from a regular tab is that a panel will try to request the mobile version of the web site, and if your software can't handle that then that's a major fault of a blocker.
Are you running some kind of VPN/Proxy in addition?
One thing you could try is to open the panel, right-click the title header and choose "Show desktop version".
Also make sure to run through the troubleshooting guide:
