What is the way to add/delete and or combine Custom folders?
Are they taken from email accounts?
      Thanks!

Hi, you cant at moment but if you have folders on the mail server M3 will take them.
I have problems to create useful filters to move mails to custom folders but M3 work different anyway. If you are familiar with old Operas M2 you are fine but after using other mail client for years I have to change my habits, I fear.

        Cheers, mib

Agree that would be nice to be able to create vivaldi custom folders and attach those custom folders to specific mail accounts.

I am also switching from Mailbird to Vivaldi Mail, and it does look as if I will need to get adjusted and maybe change the way I was organizing my email

@avguste I recommend you stop using folders and get used to relying on search instead, if you need to categorize use labels. The biggest drawback at is that if you use different clients, your labels in Vivaldi won't show in another client...

I am using labels, which I actually like, but then I found that for one of my accounts which does not have original folders, when I go to that account inbox, I am seeing a bunch of emails (which were already labeled by the way). Not sure if I am making sense....

@avguste Vivaldi does not have folders internally. It shows you emails when they fit a context. Unread email is shown in Unread. Sent email in sent. Labeled email is showing in sent. So the same email is showing in all places where the mail matches the criteria.

Above the message list you can select some categories to narrow down what is shown and what is not, and with searches you can use NOT to exclude some stuff from the search results

yea, and that is exactly the problem. Emails showing all over the place. While if custom folders, then mail could be moved around

Or maybe a solution could be to be able to stop mails from showing in inbox if they have been labeled or flagged

@avguste while I fully support your wish to implement features that Vivaldi should have functionality allowing your preferred workflow, please also consider whether you also want to consider the "default" way of Vivaldi to help you manage your email. It's quite simple and yet powerful. Read an email in Unread, mark it as read when you have replied, applied a label or are otherwise done with it. No sorting at all. Use search and categories to find mails you may be looking for.

The core idea is that a folder system is a way of applying search criteria based on some logic that you may need in the future. So you sort every mail, either with rules or manually, "where they belong" with the intent to better find them later. Later, you will apply the same logic to find the email in its place. So if you apply the same logic, a search is exactly the same thing as sorting, with the difference that it is only applied when needed. Setting up folder rules and manual filters are a huge waste of time. (link to something I once wrote...)

I did figure how the default way is and so far, so good. I still do think folders and label settings would be a welcome addition
