'backspace' key goes to previous page
-
(note: this is a c.c. of an already submitted support request)
i have to hand it to vivaldi: kudos to your programmers
if vivaldi is on a form, the backspace key doesn't cause loss of data by leaving the current page, and if it is in a form field, it deletes the previous character
the problem is me. i have ftsd (firefox traumatic stress disorder) from hitting the backspace key to delete a character, and losing my entire form page - my data, and my work
i need to disable the 'backspace' key / prevent it from being used to go to the previous page
-
i have to add that, in addition to the awesome functionality mentioned in the o.p., when i do go forward or backward from a form page, and return, my data is not lost, but everything is exactly as it was
as i said, i want to disable the 'backspace' key because of ftsd

settings, keyboard, search for "backspace", it will filter to "History back", click on the Backspace, press delete. Done

@iAN-CooG said in 'backspace' key goes to previous page:
click on the Backspace, press delete. Done
Or, click on the Backspace, press backspace. Done.

@Pesala I tried that just for fun and realised: you can't re-add backspace as a keyboard shortcut, even restoring all shortcuts does not help
Will have to find out which of the files of my backup contains the keyboard shortcuts... -
@Rexfahrer It works fine for me. Do you receive any message that it is already in use?
-
@Pesala No, no message. But now after a restart of Vivaldi I could restore the shortcuts for history back including backspace. A little hiccup, it seems.
But it is still impossible to simply add backspace as a short cut.
