Hi, I liked very much the YouTube support in feeds, however, facing an annoying issue:
If you open a feed, start a video, popup it in PIP, and then if you will try to check a different feed message, it will close immediately the popup and video playback!

I assume that this happens because devs opens and closes a new tab for each in-feed navigation, seems reasonable to save resources, but you are getting this annoying drawback, hopefully you can resolve it somehow.

      P.S
Yea I can open the video in a separate tab, but this ruins pretty much of Youtube RSS purpose.

I have no idea how it's implemented, but I'd expect that it's not associated with a tab at all. The way I see it it makes more sense for the PIP to be associated with that particular video element. As soon as the page is rendered for a new message and that video element is no longer present, the PIP is discarded. Just like it happens when you close a tab.

You're getting the same reaction I first got to PIP when I was done with the text of the page and just wanted to continue watching the video so I closed the tab and the PIP went with it. Took me a while to get used to keeping that tab open even though I was done with it but it made total sense from an implementation point of view so ultimately I just got used to it.
I'd say the same applies here...

@pauloaguia You can keep a tab and move to another one, while in feeds you can't do that, so it is a pretty different situation.

Here's my current workaround for this:

              • I double click the message whose video I want to follow in PiP to open it in a new tab
              • On the new tab, I play the video and activate PiP.
I go back to my inbox and keep going through the rest of the feeds and messages

As long as the feed item is open in that separate tab, the PiP will keep running as expected...
